Sygun was enjoying Haru's embrace, so much that at first she didn't register Ashley's cry for help. "Haru! Sygun! Get down here!" It sounded like someone yelling through water to her, muffled and gurgled. It wasn't until Ashley repeated her cry that Sygun pulled her face away from Haru's. "Did you hear something?" she asked. Haru cocked his head at her and looked at her with confused eyes as Ashley slammed open the door. Startled, Sygun leapt from the wizard's lap, and it only took one look at Ashley's face to send the feeling of euphoria and her buzz from the alcohol crashing to the floor. She was disheveled, hair a mess, sweating and crying, out of breath from her run. Sygun led her over to the bed and sat her down, while Ashley recounted the story of what went on in Bertrand's house.
Dar'Ja was dead. The words rang in Sygun's ears, echoed in her cranium. She couldn't believe it. "Well, we do need to give him a decent burial," was the only words Sygun could think to say. She didn't like the feline, he drove her crazy as a matter of fact, but the death of a member of the company still came as a shock. She looked up and asked at no one in particular the question on everyone's mind: "What are we going to do?"
