Hey everyone, if you've enjoyed my articles on this site - and I hope you have - you might also be interested in the novel I'm writing!
I could cut and paste all the info about it here, but it's much easier for you to head over to the kickstarter project I just opened and check it out for...

The other (and far better in just about every way) new perk tree in Skyrim's Dawnguard expansion is that of the Vampire Lord. While werewolves get some speedy heavy hitting, Vampire Lords get an array of new spells and abilities coupled with...

I have to be honest, prior to the Dawnguard expansion, I had never tried being a werewolf in Skyrim. Well, now that I come to think of it, I had never tried being a werewolf in just about any game except for occasionally playing Warwick in...
I agree with everything except deflect arrows. There's some enemies that appear at lower levels with ebony bows. They usually 1-shot me and almost always hit unless I've got range on them. This perk is a lifesaver if you're a shield user. Other then that, yeah, garbage.
Armor is always helpful - but playing on master is more about getting hit as infrequently as possible instead of trying to mitigate the damage you would normally take. Avoidance is always key.
Also, you can download a few mods to make it even easier to hotkey stuff (like mouse buttons, etc.) There's a few out there depending on what hardware you use, so I can't post a general link - but look around, if you're like me, you might like the main stuff all within reach on the mouse!
Through some experimentation, magic absorption > magic resistance in most situations. Even just playing with the Atronach stone's power is a considerable advantage as you've got a great chance of most magic not even doing damage to you, regardless of whether or not you use the magicka absorbed.
Thanks! It is fun and somewhat unique - but looking back on it all, magic in skyrim is so versatile and powerful that it really almost gimps you doing anything but using it to its max potential. Kinda sad really - but hey, that's what these builds are for! Obscure, fun, and challenging!
Alchemy - I guess it's just so frustrating for me in-game having to mix and match/gather ingredients and randomly combine them. I really hate how they implemented it, it seems like they tried to go 'realistic' and it just went over the top.
I've tried controlling them, running ahead of them, nearly killing them before a fight starts. These guys just don't listen. Nor are they that helpful as a pure mage because I can't case AOE spells :(
It's the same routine when exploring: Sneak, Fury until there's one enemy left...
I hope so - I've gotten over 100 emails and messages on different forums with people either shocked and/or baffled that this kind of thing wasn't pointed out in the game itself unless you accidentally discovered it on your own.
Hopefully people continue to find this and have an easier time...
Yeah, you need to be careful who you change in front of - but when you're in a random dungeon and/or out adventuring away from town surviving by any means necessary is the law. Don't hesitate to whip out the big guns in order to prevent a load and lost time.
Well, a shield would certainly help to aid the squishyness. But I hear you - it just doesn't fit into some people's play styles, and like you said - you (and they) wouldn't have it any other way.
Been playing Skyrim since release - been followerless since two days after release.
From breaking stealth, to soaking up attacks meant for enemies, to saying consistently repetitive annoying plops, to dying from AOE spells and causing quest line's to break (Mage's college anyone?) I quickly...
