Speaking of fights with lot if enemies at once, when I was going with Farkas into that draugr place to retrieve a Wuuthrad fragment, at the end when all the draugr pop out it was like they just kept coming! And practically all of them were draugr scourges. I used running and healing with that one too, and I used some Fire Breath when I could. That fight lasted a really long time.
Cool! Eh? One of the best in the game in my opinion.Last night I went through Chillwind Depths for the first time.
HO. LEE. CRAP.
That is all.
Now that's a night on the town! Sounds like fun.So me and Serana are strolling into Falkreath, think we were coming all the way from Markarth irc. Was about to swing in to see if the the alchemy dealer had a random Daedra Heart when I noticed some burly looking dudes coming out of the Inn. I remember thinking that it was odd to see such heavily armed dudes walking around town when sure enough, they were looking for me. So the boss comes running at me with his two-hander and I'm totally off guard (transmute spell). Worse, I hear a guard say "What was that?" during the melee while I'm recovering from the initial stagger, as I'm staggering, I manage to look up and see TWO dragons swirling overhead, one a Revered based on the shape of the tail, so they promptly land on separate buildings and begin covering the town in shouts. Once I was able to get my bearings (I'm a dual-wielder in tight but the shield and mace had to come out for those bums), I turned to focus on whichever dragon was closest when I hear Serana say "Where did you come from?"... why not, a vampire ambush on top of everything else. She takes off after them. Won't go into battle details. You can imagine. Btw, master setting, legit build.
All that after walking about a billion miles picking up stuff and plundering caves. Me and my follower both completely loaded down...
That I was able to lead that battle without accidentally hitting a guard/townsfolk was a miracle. Especially at night. One of many "wow" moments but that one about made me poop my pants.
This is my second playthrough and I've already seen a lot in the game but, things like this never cease to amaze me. I've already been past the first dragon encounter where you can read their thu'um in the sub titles and I've fought about 10 dragons between then and now. Not one of the previous ten spoke audibly for the sub titles until the last one I just fought outside of Karthwasten. I was looking for the Stormcloak camp in the Reach and boom, this blood dragon shows up. It roars and then my subtitles show up with "Dragon: Vol..." and then there's fire for days lol. It wasn't a named dragon or anything, just a normal blood dragon. I'm not sure if it was supposed to tell me what it said or not but it was still cool either way.
Clearly the little things in Skyrim work for me.
I almost fell off my chair the first time I realized the dragons were talking to and taunting me from the sky but I've never seen subtitles. That's cool.
One thing I never realized before shelving my map and just walking the land, the Skyrim roads are BRUTAL. I mean, I knew they were rough, but I make a nice side living looting dead merchants and traders I stumble across on the road. And I don't know how they do it, but this game seems to find very unexpected ways to reward the foot traveler.
