Am I the only one that is immensely creeped out by Dwarven ruins?

Lost Falmer
Bthardamz is the Dwemer ruin that I find the most creepy. Never mind that there are no Falmer there, but denizens known as the Afflicted adds so much discomfort with the place.

I love that place though, the dwemer architecture mixed with the creepy, pulsing, and sickly plants makes one heckuva place.

That bad?

"This Hagraven was horrifying, almost human but more an abomination of woman and creature fused together, nothing more than a husk of humanity surrendered in exchange for possession of the powers of dark magic."

No... you are not.

When I first got Skyrim, and I mean just put the game in my 360, I started exploring. As I was walking, I came across a ruin. Knowing a tad bit about ruins in Skyrim, I thought it was a Nordic ruin.

How wrong was I?!

When I first walk in, I notice how... gold... everything is. I would think a Nordic ruin would be gray, brown... black.. Earthy colors. Nah..

So, there I was, level one Nord female with the name Prisoner, I barely managed to fight off the bandits wielding two-handed, one-hand/shields, and pure magic. I kept walking. Before long, I was engaged in yet another fight with bandits. But then... this.. gold.. thing.. came up behind the bandit and started attacking me! Flipping ONE-HIT kill!

Needless to say, I hate dwarven ruins, and Dwarven Spears...

Hahhaahah I think everyone accidently names themselves Prisoner. I did it. I feel you 100%

While I don't try to avoid them, I don't make a point of exploring them if I find one not part of my quest and I usually only go back if it becomes part of a quest.

They are not creepy to me but fascinating. The house in Markath looks like one and I do love that house. I don't like falmer caves though.

The Dwarven ruins are fantastic.

The Falmers, everywhere, accompanied by Chauruses (or is it Chauri?), slowly scratching their way from the dephts of this world, often through the Dwarven ruins, to the surface, NOW that's creepy.

The Nordic ruins kind of creep me out too, but the whole idea of the ruins of a lost civilization (not to mention said civilization just disappearing) with the creations of the civilization operating inside dutifully serving their dead creators is downright creepy. Not to mention the creepy noises played when you discover one and the sounds of the gears, still running hundreds of years after they were abandoned. -shiver-
