I predict that Bethesda's next game is going to be Fallout 4. Fallout and TES are almost like brother and sister series (ever sence Bethesda started making the Fallout games anyway). Both franchies share a similar art style, and gameplay machanics. Because of this, I'm hoping they will add some of the improvements from Skyrim into Fallout 4. Here's what i would like to see.

Talking to people- Rather than the old formula of the game pausing when you talk to people, I would prefer Skyrim's real time conversations to be in Fallout 4.
Duel Wielding- It would be fun to duel wield two pistols. The advantage is, you can now shoot off twice as many rounds. The disadvantage is it takes twice as long to reload, and you cannot look down the sights.
Sprinting- I can think of many situatings where sprinting would help in Fallout 4.
Marriage- Getting married was really amusing in Skyrim. It would be really cool if you could get married in Fallout 4. On top of that, it would be even better if Fallout 4 allowed you to have children with your spouce. Do your part to help repopulate the wasteland.
Arrow to the knee reference- It would be so funny if there was an NPC who said something like "I used to be an adventurer like you... then i took a bullet to the knee."

So what would you like to see transition from SKyrim to Fallout 4?

Two things come to mind the quickest:

Update to the Fallout graphics and game engine are a MUST, not simply a copy/paste of textures. -Everything- including as simple as how the player moves, I was happy to see we no longer float around while jumping in Skyrim.

As far as gameplay Fallout MUST continue to track your reputation/karma and how you stand amoung the multiple factions within the game or I will be ending my run of playing that series. The way Skyrim threw ALL reputation/karma to the curb is despicable in my opionion, this is an RPG, you should NOT be able to join every single faction. The removal of this from Skyrim has hurt my experience and immersion.

I agree with Couthful with regards to the faction. It makes it much more interesting... especially if you try to remain nuetral to all. In the end you really can't. LOL.
If Skyrim had the faction/reputation/karma thing in it, I think it would be so much more interestiong. Side with the Stormcloaks and every Imperial you see will be negative to you. Can yo imagine trying to walk around Solitude if you sided with the Stormcloaks and factions were in play. yeesh

I do like the leveling style of Skyrim but I think the Fallout game should keep the "S.P.E.C.I.A.L" attributes although I'm not sure how in the level up process it would work with separate skill trees and perk trees.

Wait. Did they announced Fallout 4? I know they are continuing the franchise but I wasn't expecting it to come already. Anyways, I hope it looks different from Fallout 3 for a change. But to be on thread's topic, I don't think TES and Fallout series should be compared gameplay-wise. Sure, Fallout 3 is oblivion with guns and Skyrim is Fallout with swords but the origin of each game is so different that certain game mechanics is inherent in its own right. For example, I really don't want Fallout to follow the same leveling system because its leveling system has always been based on experience points and the amount of skills you raise is dependent on your intelligence level. Its attribution system, SPECIAL, should remain intact. Duel-wielding weapons is a very cool idea though.

I don't know if it has been announced. Was just brainstorming/wishing.

I'm not sure how FO4 could be any different than FO3 or FO:NV. It's still going to be post apocolyptic. Although I could see it being in some other place like in the North West along the coast. Like Washington and Oregon. Much more wooded areas but with the occassional nuked city.
I'd like to see vehicles like in Far Cry.

I can see your point on the attrubute system and leveling. Although I like how skyrim grouped the perks to the skills and wouldn't mind seeing something like that.

I was definitely thinking the FO3 engine, but just a new location as I mentioned. Something not quite so arid :D
I always wished I could ride the motorcycles around in FO3 and NV.

Maybe they could introduce some cool cover-system like mass-effect. Run & gun gameplay always made gunfights a little awkward. They just stand there... and shoot. And sometimes strafe left and right. New location is always mandatory. Perhaps somewhere out of the states? Some people might be sick of 1950s america theme though I will probably never tire out of such fun theme. It fits too perfectly with retro-steampunk theme.

You know what. You people are right.

It would be better for the Fallout series to stick with original leveling system and SPECIAL.

I firrrrrmly believe it's time they redo the game engine. Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas were the same thing except skinned differently. Its been years on that Oblivion looking platform, time to progress and keep up with the times... long as they don't stupify the gameplay that much.

I also agree, dual wielding guns is just kind of a "duh?" thing if you ask me, should have been in game by now.

Now that I think about it, dual-wielding is kind of silly. Imagine a dude carrying a knife and a laser pistol. But dual pistol is a must. Go full out akimbo on people like the real professional assassins. I always did prefer pistol over rifle.

I think you mean FO 5, since New Vegas was technically FO:4, but I understand where you're going with this.

i say the dual-wielding thing is somthing i have wanted in the fallout series and al long as the game is as wonderfull as fallout 3 with the epic storyline and ending if you dont have the broken steel pack(but the broken steel pack was good)

They are both made by the same developer, and have ridiculously similar gameplay.

I think the next Fallout game will be called "Fallout 4" because New Vegas was made by Obsidian Entertianment, rather than Bethesda Softworks (Bethesda only published New Vegas).

That's why think New Vegas is more like an "aside" in the Fallout series (similar to Fallout: Tactics) and is not part of the main series.

You see this same thing with the Assassin's Creed series. Acording to Ubisoft, all the games are going to be named this by the end of the series.
Game 1- Assassin's Creed
Game 2- Assassin's Creed II
Game 3- Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
Game 4- Assassin's Creed: Revelations
Game 5- Assassin's Creed III
