    Levi Barenjager

    The Drunken Battlemage
Levi quietly slipped the bottle of LaChance back into his bag, and stood as the Orc did. "To plan is half the victory," he said as he lifted the map and held it against the wall of the stable for both of them to see. He pulled a small piece of charcoal from his robes.

"This is where we lay our heads tonight." he stated, marking the map with an "X". "I haven't traveled this road before but I've been told the tower is unoccupied, and the town nearest it should be friendly to us should we find we need any supplies."

Khan scratched his head "oh i thought we were just going to walk there aimlessly but this seems like a good plan" Khan said looking at the map.

He then looked over at the rest of the group "So how long do you think it will take us to get there?" khan said looking out at the rising sun.

Indeed, Ljúfa was already wide awake and standing a few paces away, outside and well within earshot of the group. The giggle of an unfamiliar voice would reach alert ears. Judging from the distance, she was having a small chat with someone on the side of the stables.

"And that is why you marry a Breton. We're the best cooks!" piped a cheery voice that was in the process of gnawing on a sweetroll so early in the morning.

The taller woman flared her nostrils and just couldn't wait to get out of here. Sleeping in the stables? Ljúfa lived the life of a soldier and was accustomed to retiring in the oddest places but not even a thousand septims could convince the woman to sleep soundly where horses dwelled. The familiar animal stench reached her nose.

"Yes, they're all the best cook but you're the crappiest in the Reach," the Nord responded, booming out a loud laugh which quickly ceased after hearing familiar voices from inside.

"I need to head back in."
"Write to me when you get to Shor's Stone or something. I promise to have a handsome man lined up for you, wearing the amulet of Mara with conviction. No liars."

The much more jovial Breton broke into a loud scream. The answer as to why came in the form of the Battlemage carrying the priestess over her right shoulder, drifting past the group inside the stables. The woman slung over her shoulders was carrying an amulet of Dibella, sandaled feet kicking during her uncontrolled giggles. Ljúfa chugged the curly brown haired priestess on the bench of the empty carriage and waved, announcing her farewells. "Kynareth guide you."

When Ljúfa made her way back in the stables, the playful grin was replaced with a serious mask--hands placed behind her when she leaned against a wooden pillar, listening to the chatter about the next traveling destination.

"To answer your question, I'm going to assume we'll arrive by nightfall," she answered the inquiring Orc.

Khan staggered his gaze over to the nord then back to the map. "Seems about right" Khan said fixing his battle axe and adjusting his hair.

Levi looked upon Ljufa with some surprise. She had said little up to this point, and he hadn't expected her to have a playful side. Watching her carrying a beautiful young Breton over her shoulder briefly aroused his interest, but he quickly shook this thought away and returned his focus to the map. "Yes, by evening, Akatosh willing."

She noticed the quick look of surprise on the Breton's face but already tore her vision away when he answered Khan. Ljúfa merely bobbed her head, adjusting away from the wooden pillar to stand straight. Her eyes squinted against the bright sky, speaking up after J'marco's suggestion.

    "Divines watch over us."

    Levi Barenjager

    The Drunken Battlemage
Levi returned to the corner of the stable where he had slept and donned his enchanted ebony armor and his Mage's Circlet. He returned his robes to his bag and withdrew his mace and shield as he mentally prepared himself for the day's journey. Before picking up his bag he checked once more to ensure the chest was still present. He then met eyes with each of the others, saying nothing, before stepping forward an leading them out of the stables.

The five warriors headed North along the road away from Riften. Levi walked in silence, stopping from time to time to pluck whatever herbs they happened past, and reaching up on occasion to snatch butterflies from the air, placing these ingredients into the satchel he wore at his side. The sky was clear, the sun bright and warm, and it was beginning to look as if the day would be without incident.

He was hesitant to converse with his traveling companions, but wondered to himself what had brought them to a place in there lives where such an expedition could seem like a good idea. This gradually shifted his thoughts to his own past. Often when he traveled he would imaging Aleksia, still alive and walking by his side. This would go on for as long as he could stand, until the pain became too great and he would revert his attention back to the present moment.

As the path they were on began to straighten, then curve slightly to the right, Levi could see Fort Greenwall far off in the distance. The gentle breeze they had been enjoying shifted to a series of gusts as a cluster of storm-clouds slowly eclipsed the sun.

Khan looked down the road it was barren he then looked at the group. the wind gushing at his orcish armor. Khan pushed through the gusts. "This wind is annoying" Khan said picking more dirt out of his eyes. He then saw the fort it was crumbled like the rest. he shifted his breastplate making it clunk and scrape. once he was done fixing it he looked out in the distant and he could see was some deer and a couple wolves.

OOC: I have a story arc planned, but it essentially only dictates where we'll be going, and a few major events. Beyond this you should all feel free to contribute to the plot as much as you'd like (as long as your not deciding we should suddenly go to Markarth or Solitude, obviously, or killing one of us off.) Please feel free create your own sub-plots and NPC's as you see fit and get as creative as you want, and I'll try and make sure it all works together for a good story :)

    Levi Barenjager

    The Drunken Battlemage
Levi turned to hear Khan's lament as the first few drops of rain fell upon the dirt road. He then followed the Orc's gaze toward the fort and several wandering deer far off in the distance.

As Levi wondered to himself whether any of his companions were carrying a bow, one of the deer suddenly collapsed to the ground. Then another. He spun around to face the other warriors. Not one amongst them held a bow. The rain fell harder now as Levi turned back up the road to see several bandits, all well armed, carrying the fallen creatures toward the fort.

"i count seven of them" stated rodmar "two archers, four swords men and a mage. there may be more inside the fort"

the bantis where mainly clad in iron armour although their wepons looked to shine like steel but it was too far for rodmar to tell with any degree of certainty. "we could bypass them or we could punch through." he turned to the rest of the group "what takes your fancy?"

Khan laughed "Lets stomp their faces in" He said cracking his knuckles. Khan hoped the group agreed he'd been wanting a fight but never found one but this looked promising to him.

Ljúfa came to a halt with the rest of the group, still standing behind the men. She stood on her booted feet, peering over Khan's shoulder to have a good look at the bandits in the distance. Their gradual congregation toward the fort didn't seem to phase her until...

"Its best we put them out of their misery. They'll kill an innocent traveller."

She unhooked the staff from the leather strap on her back without hesitation, then peered at Levi for an answer. How she was puffy eyed from lack of sleep and ready to jump into the fray was something any sane person could not fathom.

Levi could feel the eyes of the others looking to him for some kind of confirmation as to what they should do next. He set down his bag and took from it a bottle of Stros M’Kai rum, had himself several long drinks, paused, and then began to sing aloud:

Oh there once was a hero named Ragnar the Red

As he continued his booming voice grew louder and louder…

Who came riding to Whiterun from ol' Rorikstead!

…until it filled the small valley they stood in.

AND THE BRAGGER DID SWAGGER AND BRANDISH HIS BLADE!

A couple of the bandits began to look down the road as Levi grabbed his bottle by the neck and, taking several steps forward, hurled it into the air toward the fort.

AS HE TOLD OF BOLD BATTLES AND GOLD HE HAD MADE!!!

When the bottle reached its apex Levi let loose a ball of fire from his hands. The rum burst into flames, raining down burning alcohol and glass into the clearing at the entrance of the fort, and drawing the attention of every bandit within earshot.

He stood there, smiling briefly. “Now there can be no more question” he said calmly “on whether we fight or flee.”

"i'd hoped that would be the answer." said rodmar as he drew his sword

'many more than seven' he thought as more bandits spilled out of the gates 'but not enough'.
the fist two where almost upon them now. khan was readying his axe, levi charging a spell in his hands, ljúfa standing ready with her staff and J'marco was stareing them down unfased.

The first two where on him, rodmar's sword burned ice blue as he ran it through the chest of the first bandit the wave of frost from the enchantment spreding up his foe's body. rodmar yanked the sword free and spun it towards the next bandit. The bandit blocked it with his sheild but in doing so left his legs defenceless to the blow now speeding down towards them.

with the fist of the foe's dispached. the five travelers waited for the rest

Khan looked over at Rodmar "Good kills" He said seeing another bandit charge after him dual-wielding swords. Khan laughed to himself and ran up kicking the poor whelp in the chest sending him to the ground. Khan then brought his weapon down planting it into the bandits chest. Khan pulled it out leaving a red pulp. He then yelled a battle cry "AHHHHHHH" in joy.

J'marco stared at the bandits attacking the team, as one neared him he readied his fists and grabbed a bandit repeatedly punching him. The bandit attacked back and joust his sword at J'marco, but he was too slow J'marco dodged the attack and with the bandits arm open he snapped it. The bandit crumpled to the ground in pain J'marco then punched the bandit in the side of his head killing him.
