The Suthay did not speak a word as they entered into Dragonsreach. The view initially made her gape, but after considering it, it was no more impressive than the structures in Torval would be to a foreigner. She was only a tourist here. A faint buzz at the end of the room ended at Tsee-Keth's words; Khamundar assumed that there had been a discussion in progress before they entered, their presence announced. She heard a command and, a few seconds later, saw a female Dunmer approaching them with a hand on her hilt. She watched them without expression.
"Who are they?" a deep, accented male voice asked, presumably the Jarl. The Dumner eyed the two humanoids carefully and then gestured at them to follow. Khamundar looked at Tsee-Keth and shrugged, following the woman's lead up the stairs. Across a horizontal fireplace in the center of the room (perhaps a Nordic trend), a man with long pale-blonde hair and beard sat in a throne, watching them.
Khamundar took the initiative to pass the Dumner and approach the Jarl. She heard the woman draw her sword. Khamundar knelt in front of the man, daring to look into his face as she did so, a gesture of expected trust in Elsweyr. Judging by his surprised expression, she realized that perhaps it was not so in human lands. She stayed knelt, and heard the Dumner woman resheath her sword. "This one is Khamundar, t'har," she introduced. She glanced back at Tsee-Keth. "And this one is Tsee-Keth," she added, looking again at the man on the throne. "We helped with the giant problem. This one," she said, putting a hand on her chest to indicate herself, "was admitted into the city yesterday by the guard. Khajiit would like permission to remain within the city."
There was silence for a moment. The Jarl gestured for her to stand, so she did. "You have it. It's only fitting after you defended my city," he said. "But be aware that my people have not met one of your kind before. I can't speak for them all." He seemed to be speaking to them both. "Is there anything else you need?"
Hesitantly, she nodded. "T'har, there are two caravaneers outside of the city. They were attacked by the giant. This one send guards to find them, but has not heard from them since. Could.. this one would like to make sure-"
"I'll send out a small patrol to check on them," the Jarl interrupted. "If that's all, you are free to leave. Unless there's anything else you need?" She shook her head. She she turned to leave, the Jarl spoke again. "I must ask: what does t'har mean?"
She smiled and turned around. "It is Ta'agra for 'chieftain'," she replied, looking at Tsee-Keth as she walked back to the entrance.
