Looks like VA will have an NBA team soon IF the Maloofs actually relocate the Kings out of Sacramento. Though I feel sorry for the loyal fanbase of the Kings. They were a force to be reckoned with during the span of 1999-2005. They plated beautiful basketball through the fab five of Divac, Webber, Stojakovic, Christie and Bibby.

It is just that the owners are at fault. They slowly lost their fortune in their Palms casino and other ventures. Years and years of not committing money for rebuilding slowly isolated the loyal ones. The young Kings have talent, but the front-office is in a handicap due to the mess that the ownership has done. Good free agents refuse to sign and that lead to bargain for a buck free agents like Chuck Hayes and Aaron Brooks. I love both guys from their Houston Rockets days but they seem like a misfit with the team and which brings us to team composition dynamics that is a huge factor in why the Kings maybe off to another losing season. They don't have a shot blocker so teams abuse the paint with gutsy plays inside and from the outside down at crunch time.

If the Kings do move to VA Beach, I will welcome it. We do not have a major professional basketball team since the 70's where the Virginia Squires were making noise in the original American Basketball Association league that tried to rivaled the NBA. At one point, the Squires had two legendary players in the roster: Julius "Dr. J" Erving and George "Iceman" Gervin.

Plus the tickets will be very pocket friendly. So no more cross state trips for me just to see either the Charlotte Bobcats or the Washington Wizards for an NBA game. I picture the owners of the Sacramento Kings filing for relocation by April 2013.

It all hinges on how much the state will contribute to the financial proposal and the NBA board of Governors agreeing to the relocation.

Until that day, I'll make cross state trips to Charlotte and Washington that has a lot of cheap seats available. Charlotte is making baby steps under Dunlap so they are not losing as much as like last season. While the Wizards in Obama's doorsteps are just plain bad and boring to watch. At the moment, ONE win and XX amount of losses for the Wizards.

Atleast last season when I go to the Wizards games, me and the fans have a great time jeering Blatche and poking fun at McGee. Now, the team is serious and yet losing. I swear, Jordan Crawford and Brad Beal can't exist in one team.

What does everyone think of the NBA fining the Spurs for resting Parker, Duncan, Ginobili and Green against Miami?

From what I gathered, broadcasting firms complained about that game where it was supposed to be a Big Three vs. Big Three affair. The hype for that game was being heavily advertised a week before tip-off. So the demographics stated that there were significant losses in the live viewership all over the world due to Popovich's call. It reached the ears of David Stern and he was quick to issue a press statement about a sanction coming for the Spurs.

League reps argued that each NBA team is given three Game Time decision calls for starters prior to the game and the submitted lineup. Turns out the league is insisting that this is not about punitive punishment under the coercion of broadcasters, but a technical misdemeanor in the part of the Spurs coaching staff.

My take is that Gregg Popovich wanted his starters to rest as the veteran mentor knows that the NBA schedule is still far from the playoffs and by allocating "rest days", the health of his starters would be good for a heavy schedule in December. A game off means a lot for the body's respite.

Still, in that game, Spurs did not roll over and die. Their second string of Bonner, Andeson, Diaw, Splitter and De-Colo gave quite a scare to the HEAT. It took LeBron James flexing his muscles and a late heroic from Ray Allen to win. It was a great game. Both teams put on a show.

Stern is doing a fine job of proving what an idiot he truly is. I think by fining the Spurs for making a decision in favor of players safety he is forcing teams to either make up injuries for player that need to sit out a game. Or not rest players at all even if its needed.

If it were up to me (and thousands of others) I'd unleash Agent 47 on Stern with one headshot. I live in Seattle, so yeah, reckon y'all know what I'm referring to and why. ;):D

As a former Washingtonian/Sonics fan I totally understand your pain. But since I live Oklahoma. I am really happy with how that cluster ef ended.

No problem here, lastphoenix. I got nothing against the people of Oklahoma. They seem very supportive and enthusiastic about the Thunder, as well they should be. As you probably already know, my issue is with that dickhead Stern and that other asshole, Bennett.

I'm truly saddened by what happened today with the Chiefs, I'm in no way a Chiefs fan (I'm a Jets fan) but any murder/suicide (either or or in this case both) is truly sad. I just hope they don't honor the player that committed said crime, he deserves no respect, he forfeited that when he took the life of his girlfriend, nonetheless doing so in front of her child.

Well put, Scotty. Do you know how old her child is? The reports I've seen so far haven't said anything about a child being present.

EDIT: Jets fan, huh? So then, gonna ask you. Sanchez or Tebow? :D

I'm sorry, I went back and re-read the article, the daughter is left orphaned, didn't say anything about in front of the daughter (who is three months old). The witness (and this is where I got hung up) is the mother, and she has cooperated with police.

As for your question when I play Madden I use Tebow lol. I do think it's time for the Jets to make a change I think Sanchez is kind of like a Kyle Orton type.... good enough to be a solid back up... not good enough to be a starter. Tebow, I think he's someone that if you're gunna bring him to your team you NEED to give him the ball, Tebow can't "Work his magic" coming in for at most 5 snaps a game. Can't get into a flow. I don't think either of them are the solution, but I think the better answer right now is Tebow. I was very adamant about giving Sanchez 3 years (Which is what I think a FRANCHISE *young* QB (by management standards not mine) deserves), 3 years been up... no signs of real improvement. He didn't pull an Eli, people called for Eli's head over and over then he won a SB now they ride his jock like a few years ago they weren't wanting him kicked out of his job, same with ole'man Coughlin.

Sorry for the rambling, it's easy to go on a rant about the Jets but I will say this, the only thing I legitimately can't stand as a Jets fan (Every team has gone through QB, Coaching, -insert position- issues, so I don't get TOO riled up about that) is the management. The owner hasn't shown me much of anything of wanting to get that ring for awhile now. Outsiders would say "Well you brought in all this talent" trading chemistry for talent doesnt work. Would you trade your wife (happily married/good chemistry) for a pornstar just cus a pornstar could probably work you over better? lmao no.
But what said it loud and clear was the owner flat out saying Romney winning the election would've been better than winning the Superbowl. I understand the presidency is obviously bigger, and I completely support his right to support whoever he wants (despite it being Romney, ugh). But no fan wants to hear his/her team's owner say that. There's a reason people say this about the Jets & Giants in NY:
"Jets go for the back of the newspapers, Giants go for the history books." sad but true.

Nah, no worries, man. I don't consider that rambling. Only true fans would go on and on like you did. I appreciate and like that. :beermug:

Hope I don't get myself in trouble for this, but you gotta check out a member here by the username of samgurl775. She's a huge Patriots and Tom Brady fan. Very, very knowledgable, too.

Lol if youre gunna get yourself in trouble it wont be with me, I don't really get into the heated team rivalries like some. My natural demeanor is "Whatever, man" lmao, in all of sports the only teams I dislike (moreso for personal reason than actual sports) is Pittsburgh anything. Football is almost a religion here though so I spend entirely to much time looking into all teams, despite only rooting for my Jets lol.

Nah, no worries either way. She's cool and doesn't get into the name-calling and all that other BS. Hell, she'll even call out her own team's weaknesses, like the Pats' pass defense, or lack thereof. lol

You dislike Pittsburgh anything? Yessss! See, hockey's the main major sport I follow where I have a favorite team (and don't get me started about that stupid-ass lockout!). My boys are the Flyers. And. I. Can't. Effin'. Stand. The. Penguins!

I'm curious on seeing how Big Blue's attacking defense will counter RG3 of the Redskins. Hyped for Monday night football.

Definitely hype for that game as well, I'm sure they'll run something similarly to how they do against Vick but luckily for the Giants the 'Skins dont have a Desean Jackson to worry about. RGIII will get knocked around quite a bit, but I think the Giants will be smart and do something with a lot of interior rushes with outside coverages to try and contain RGIII from running.

Agreed about team management. You don't have to look any further than the 2008 Cowboys for what happens when you sacrifice team chemistry for talent. I'm sure I'm in the vast minority, but I'm on the Greg McElroy bandwagon. I was a huge fan of his when he was at Alabama, and actually wanted the Patriots to draft him late if we could (I even talked him up as the next Tom Brady lawl). Maybe I over exaggerated back then, but I really think McElroy can be a good starter. Maybe Joe Flacco/Alex Smith esque - not a guy that's carrying the team, but someone that can protect the ball and lead the offense down the field for a game winning drive.
