Wanting to make an Imperial "Arcane Warrior" themed character from Dragon Age. Any Advice on what I should pick out as skills?
I don't know DA, but I do know TES. That would be a Spellsword, or Battlemage, depending on the particulars of the build. The former is a combo of Spell, and Sword, obviously, usually Light Armored, Destruction and Restoration. The sword could be an Axe, or maxe, of course, but you'll want to stick to 1 handed, so that they're both always ready. Firebolt as they close on you, then finish with the sword, use the Restoration school to heal yourself. Dunmer are natural Spellswords, and Redguards also make very good ones.
The Fade Shroud power is basically the Become Ethereal Shout.
Battlemage is not unlike in DA, you'll want Heavy Armor, Destruction/Conjuration, Alteration, and 1, or 2 handed. I wear Robes, with Heavy Armor Gauntlets, Boots, and usually a Dragon Priest Mask (Vokun is my favorite, or Otar, Nahkriin Rahgot...) Where a Spellsword is fast, and versatile, the Battlemage is overpowering. They're more likely to switch out at range, and up close, I like to add Block for a Shield, or to stagger with a Battleaxe. (The Bound one is glitched, so the next best is the Drainblood.) So, their Fighting Style is lead with Ebonyflesh to reinforce their armor, Conjure a Dremora Lord for support, then charge in to the fray swinging before the durations run out. Argonians, and Orcs make good Battlemages because of their daily powers, as do Bretons, and Altmer because of their Magical proficiency, but they have to train up the weapon skills. Imperials are probably as close to a Natural for it in the lore.
There's other possible Magic/fighter hybrids, since there's no longer Classes. The Witchunter uses Archery, Alchemy, Destruction, Conjuration, (I'd go for Restoration, since there is no Mysticism) Alchemp, Lockpicking, and something like Speech. I'd go for Light Armor, if any, and Sneak would be a good idea. Nightblades use Illusion to enhance their Assasination abilities, so sneak, archery, LA and 1H (With other optional skills.)
