What is your problem specifically?
I am on a PC, had a hard time at the begining, but once I got used to the controls and navigating the menus, it got much easier.
The beauty of this game is that it is truly a giant sandbox. Want to go to Winterhold? Go for it. Feel like finding the Dark Brotherhood? Nothing stopping you. Want to put the main story on hold and run around like a lunitic? Sounds like fun. Sick of that guy giving you lip? Kill him, or not...
WHAT! You mean I have been trouncing all over the imperials and now it is going to screw up my main story line?
I have a few stormcloak missions left, if I stop now will it all be good?
What way do you guys play and why?
I personally prefer 3rd person in most situations. 3rd really gives you a chance to take in the world around you, as well as catching that baddie sneaking up on you. Plus you get to see all that bad ass armor you crafted. And the ability to pan the camera...

Same boat, I get to a point when I get bored with sneaking (Lvl 24 Assassin) or conjuring (Lvl 39 Death Knight). So I have made my 3rd character, full on mage (Lvl 6). None of my characters have finished the main story line as of yet.
I couldn't be bothered putting it in a chest, so I have a room like Scrooge McDuck’s. A pile of treasure stacked to the ceiling. Quite funny when you walk through it, armor and weapons flying around the room, what a racquet.
