They do. What I'm saying is they all copycat one another visually since that's fully left to imagination with books. And at the moment there are far more RPGs than movies and TV shows that define what that visual style is.
And the first Elder Scrolls game was released in 1994 :)
I didn't mean the plot though, I meant the production. The look and feel of that world reeks of RPGs. They don't have an infinite number of sources for inspiration for an imaginary medieval style world.
So I just got into this series, does anyone else think so many things look and feel like they've been ripped from Elder Scrolls games?
I know the show's a few months older than Skyrim so won't be a direct inspiration, but sooo many things look like Oblivion. Anyway, not the only RPG influence...
I was doing the vampire quest in Morthal. At the end of it I promised the Jarl to get rid of the master vampire and his lair not far from the town. A big group of armed villagers wanted to help out and went there with me. Outside I get attacked by a bear and I shout him to death. As soon as I...
There's a wispmother and three wisps at the Ruins of Rkund. They're in the southern mountains in the Rift, you approach them by going through Darklight Tower and exiting the big gate at the top floor.
The Jarl and steward sit on the throne that's straight up about 7 flights of stairs from the entrance to Understone Keep. The house in Markarth is different from other cities, it's Dwemer built in a nice high-up location straight in the mountain. Pretty large, got separate rooms for alchemy and...
Cured Farkas of lycanthropy. On the way to Ysgrammor's tomb Farkas just couldn't resist getting into a fight with a giant. The giant clubbed him over the head so hard, Farkas flew straight into the stratosphere in the most ridiculous cartoonish fashion. I thought he was lost. A few seconds later...
I now have all 5 houses with all upgrades and near 100k in the bank.
Nothing to spend it on really. You make your own equipment past a certain level and it always works out better than buying. I have tons and tons of soul gems and potions on me. I wish they put in more ways to spend money.
I think it's to do with how it applies the extra smithing boost you get from wearing enchanted items. I had a ring and a necklace both with +16% equipped each time I did anything with the weapons.
The older mace was made and improved about 5 times, the boost adding * 1.16 to whatever my max...
It somehow is though, that's what I'm saying.
I didn't do any potions, just the same bits of enchanted jewelery. The only difference with the old one is I improved it on a grindstone several times after making, say once every time my smithing skill went up by 5 points. This in the end gave...
I get all of that. I just don't get how I created the same weapon now as I did before, with a much lower skill and the maximum output on the new one is 30 points lower. I did improve the other mace several times as I was getting to smithing 100 from about 70, but it still doesn't make sense that...
Right, so I got to smithing 100. Now I created and improved a glass mace with a smithing necklace and ring on. The damage is 30 points lower than the current glass mace I made many levels ago and improved several times as my smithing skill was improving.
How can I not match what I made with...

Barbaric huh? :)
Yes, it's not worse, put it that way. There's less eye candy, but still loads of things to do and factions to join. The map is about the same size as skyrim.
