I'm doing a mage/vampire: destruction & illusion. I find that master just makes the spells a little to weak. With warrior types, I like master - it's so much more rewarding to reach a level where you can beat a specific enemy type.

On my first character I started on adept, then moved up to expert, then master, and finally incorporated a mod to push the difficulty even higher. Ultimately even that felt too easy, so I created another toon as soon as I was finished with the main story. This time I'm starting on expert, moving up to master once there is even the slightest hint of lacking challenge, and once that becomes too easy, out comes the custom difficulty mod.

Adept. I'ma casual player when it comes to RPG's . In FPS I'm like hardened and up xD

Train

Is that all you got?!
I wasn't aware that were different difficulties...oh yeah, I remember adjusting something once, didn't know what it did, so I just left it on master...

Curious - Whats the name of the custom difficulty mod?

It's simply called "Custom Difficulty" by Phitt. You can find it here:

Custom Difficulty at Skyrim Nexus - Skyrim Mods and community

It lets you specify your own damage AND the dmg done by your enemies. For example, the default master difficulty gives you 0.5x normal dmg output, and 2x normal dmg taken from enemies. You can crank these up to a variety of different settings. I played with 0.4x dmg output for my character, and 3x dmg taken from enemies.

I play on expert. I tend not to do the over powered smithing everything and that kind of stuff, so right now my equipment would not allow me to survive on master. I'm sure I could play master, but I would have to run away from many things haha! :D

Master, but I'm one of those people that makes godlike characters. So anything less would just be boring.

Wow, am I the only one who plays normal? I do that on all games, because, well, I am not a very hardcore gamer, and also, I am very pessimistic, so if I die once, I think I'll die every time.

Adept. Haven't bothered changing the difficulty since I set it the first time.

Oh, is adept the regular diff? If so, I use that.

Fairly easy, a lot easier than a lot of you, I'm going to move it up a little bit now that my damage/health is a little higher though. Sorry but if I have to shoot over 10-50 arrows into a guy's face for him to die, that just takes all the fun and realism out of the combat. I instead have been leveling my stamina instead of my health so I can die quicker at least.

I know, You know
Usually expert, When I get bored I occasionally up it but I usually just strip naked and box bears you know even the odds a bit, it not like he has armor.

I play on master.

The issue with Skyrim though is that there are too many I WIN buttons. It's always a fine balance between progress and restraint. You want to feel like a bad ass but take it too far and the game becomes boring. My Axe & Shield warrior got to level 50 and I was forced to turn the difficulty to Legendary just so things stay fun...and frankly it's still too easy.

I always start games on the second hardest, so initially I played Expert. When I'd developed a keener grasp of the combat system, I bumped up to Master and have pretty much stayed there ever since.

My favourite thing to do in Skyrim is see how many giants I can take on at once with a bow, and that has never ceased to challenge and entertain me. I never really stay with one character long enough to become overpowered anyway, so I've never really had a problem with that.

To be honest, I suck at video games. I play Witcher 2 on the lowest difficulty and I die so many times.

But mages are so overpowered in Skyrim (the way it should be if you put your perks right) that I can play on Legendary and go dozens of hours without dying.

To answer the thread: I play on Master most of the time. It's somewhat of a challenge but I can stroll the roads of Skyrim and relax.

Why is the alto wine always gone?
seeing how update 1.9 is out i been playing on legendary b4 that i played on master, my motto is go big or don't go at all....why play on novice and never have to worry about dying, defeats the purpose, i play on legendary now when ever i start a new playthrough, have to say though that once u hit a certian lvl skyrim loses all challenges, my main character in now 298, he has been around since the first day skyrim dropped in stores, over 2 year, I hit 81 without doing the book glitch, lol very hard. but now at lvl 298 and everything is perked out the game has no challenge (even on legendary) i even decided to use no weapons or magic against a dragon, just my fists....well didnt work b/c i got a kill cam on the very first hit....legendary mode dragons pose no threats to me even when i have no wpns and magic....game is broke for me
