Back-story: Rangers lead the way. And the 75th Ranger Regiment leads the Rangers. These troops are the Special Operations regiment of the Rangers, and Ben Graham is a member of Squad Alpha.
Ben was born to traditional parents; father went off to work every weekday, mother stayed at home to take care of the household. He was an athletic child, playing on both baseball and football teams all the way through High School. He excelled in Academics as well, but his only interest was to join the military. At the age of eighteen, he enlisted.
He passed training with flying colors, and two years later he entered into Ranger Recruitment. For the pat six years, he has spent much of his time in Iraq & Afghanistan, often with only twenty to thirty other rangers with him deep into the worst places for American Soldiers. He has heard bullets whiz by him more time than are countable, yet he has kept his positive outlook on life.
Ben and his platoon were deep in the mountains of Afghanistan, investigating strange sightings in the area when he came upon the surprise of his life. He was recruited to XCOM shortly after.
(I plan to include this 'surprise' in the first post of the in-character thread, upon acceptance. If that's all right.)
