When I married Shahvee, every Argonian from Windhelm docks showed up, in addition to some random people I guess I was friends with lol

Stigweard Ruadhan

Jeg er stolt. Jeg er sterk.
Stigweard Ruadhan has still yet to marry...he is too busy wrestling with his demons and wondering if he made the right decisions during the Civil War.

I married Shavee, and the only person who came to the wedding was Degaine, I hate him. But I killed her with my epic new spell later anyway, so no one cares.

For my wedding, I got married to Avrusa Sarethi. People who showed up: her sister, Brand-Shei, Brynjolf (Kind of awesome), my follower, Marcurio, and the alchemist from Dawnstar. All in all, not a bad turnout. Better than my Khajiit, where I only got two Markarth guards.
You got guards to come to your wedding. That's pretty badass.

It surprised to me read about how many of you have had a low turnout on wedding guests. By the time I got married, well into lvl 45 with most side and faction missions done. In attendance I had Astrid, Cicero, Jarl Balgruf, quite a few "Friends"(Former followers) Maven Black-Briar, High Queen Elisef and the Inner Circle of the companions. What I think is lacking, Wedding Presents. The bride to be was Aleya the Huntress.

I am thane in nine holds and own property in eight. I am Harbinger of the Companions, Archmage (though I think it's just an honorary title because they like having someone around to kill the numerous dragons which alight upon their grounds), Imperial legate, and known throughout the holds as the dragonborn defeater of Alduin. I am level 66.

Who showed up at my wedding?

Wujeeta.

Well, I AM glad I helped her with her skooma addiction. Truly.

WTF
Okay so I was just walking around Shors Stone having just "proposed" to Sylgja and I decided to sit down in their nightly little campfire when this guy named Filnjar says are you interested in me. WTF. I guess the gay rights groups would have gotten up in arms if it wasn't an option but still. WTF.

Skyrim may be plagued with racism, but it's extremely progressive when it comes to sexual orientation. I attribute this to the fact that Daedra (whom more than a few worship) are essentially sexless and can choose their gender at will.

I think it's one of the more charming things about the game. That it's so completely accepted that it's never ever even mentioned, not even obliquely.

No. Bethesda is just aware that the gaming community is very diverse group of people of differing gender identities, ages and sexual orientations and not just a stereotypical bunch of 16-year-old boys painfully insecure about their sexuality so they use sexist elements within games to overcompensate for their fragile egos.

You may wish to read this before you again publically express such insecurities about your own sexuality: Homophobes Might Be Hidden Homosexuals: Scientific American

Oh and also, in 2013, female gamers may very likely outnumber male ones, not to mention the growing number of LGBTQ gamers who have always been around and are getting pretty tired of this kind of puerile whining (as we all should be) so please, be respectful to the fact that you are speaking to a community whose members aren't necessarily like you and mostly think it is backwards to be so ridiculously insecure and narrow-minded.

And if you have trouble with that, there's always Reddit to go and pretend the world outside your teensy-tiny bubble doesn't exist and you can hate everyone different from you all you wish.

Damn chill out. I wasn't insulting the LGBT community or anything like that. Just surprised me. Maybe ask a few question before calling someone a homophobe.

Saozig, I think you may have overstated the case a bit. And I don't think there's any need to get personal in the attacks. But I do agree with most of what you've said.

I'm a straight girl, but I absolutely love the fact that I can roleplay a gay dunmer with a preference for redheaded Nords, and it will raise no eyebrows in game at all. I mean, what a lovely world that is.

And indeed, the puerile and unavoidable sexism (and other types of hate) so prominently on display in most multiplayer games these days are the main reason I play Skyrim.

Well to get this thing back on topic. Sylgja's father Verner Rock Thrower attended. As did Camilla from Riverwood. Anakke Crag-Jumper came as did Vilnjar. It was awkward because Camilla as my wife in the last playthrough and Vilnjar was the guy who started this whole thing by asking me if I was interested.

When I married Camilla to have Lydia's corpse arrive at the wedding (It was a glitch at the time; Lydia was able to attend your wedding even if she had died), I had a number of odd guests attend.

The official attendants were Camilla, Lucan Valerius, Faendal, Lydia's corpse, an adventurer, an afflicted, and a mage. Then the afflicted, adventurer, and mage started fighting each other and killing the guests. It was pure hell.

"The wedding of Daedra McBitch...........pure hell !"

Yeah, sounds about right !

Oddly enough M'aiq the lire was there. Accompanied by 6 or 7 thugs. Oh and after the marriage I was jumped by the thugs. I guess I married the wrong person lol. It was the argonian chick I forgot her name.
Maiq the Liar attended your wedding? That's pretty awesome! I guess I know why he never attended mine though. I always find joy in asking questions and annoying the oblivion out of Maiq whenever I met him on the roads :D

I had one of the most poorly attended weddings ever. I married Tonilia, maybe that's why. Not many people approved.

I got married after finishing the main quest, doing virtually every side quest, becoming one of the greatest heroes in Skyrim and three people show up:

1. Vivienne from Solitude. A follower of mine. No quests done for her.
2. Iona. Lost in a draugr dungeon along with Argis several weeks ago, after being pounded into the walls by a swinging axes trap. I guess she was required by the game to be there since she is the housecarl of the house in Riften. I consider her a ghost though, as she congratulated me on the marriage, but doesn't seem able to get off the temple bench.
3. Lizette from Solitude. Was a follower of mine for about a minute a long time ago. No quests done for her.

That was it. LOL. I guess I'm not so important after all.

When I married Roggi Knotbeard, his buddy Kjeld showed up at the wedding (stroppy git who gives you attitude if you walk up to him in the mine) quite nice of him though. I don't normally get someone who turns up purely for the person I'm marrying, it was nice for Roggi to have a best man! Faendal was also there (I would expect it since I set him up with Camilla) and Arcadia and Lydia were there, which was nice for Arcadia to have an escort on the road back to Whiterun, I wonder if they're lesbians.

I had the lady beggar in Riften attend my latest characters 4:00 AM pre-dawn wedding (I wanted to see if the wedding would really start that early. It did).

I was amazed anyone showed up actually. That character is level 6 and has done ONE quest... the one that persuaded Sondas Drenim to marry her. By all rights I should have had no one attend. Part of me is disappointed the beggar showed up. I feel I missed an opportunity.

I bet all you Thanes, Dragonborns, war heroes, Arch Mages, Harbingers, Listeners and Guild Masters who had one guest show up really hate me right now. I was a little surprised none of Sondas Drenim's friends showed up though. Maybe they don't approve of his level six quest shunning wife.
