A flail? I can already imagine the Shoutbox jokes.
I can see potential there, although it may be challenging to program. The flail was intended to be used as a weapon of momentum--you would swing it in circles to pick up momentum so when it hit the opponent's armor, it do so with more force. It was chiefly an armor-piercing weapon. Also, it's a weapon that, if not wielded properly, can do the wielder a lot of damage. It'd be cool if they could program it like that where you could do more powerful attacks when you gained enough momentum with it (and required the appropriate amount of stamina, as flail wielding was pretty arduous, hence why it fell out of combat fashion), and also if you're being an idiot with it, you hurt yourself pretty badly.
Long-handled, two-handed flails were pretty interesting: you used the chained ball to damage your opponent's armor and then use the long handle as a bludgeoning weapon, to do close melee with your now more vulnerable opponent.
