I always get killed by that electricity rock monster thing....anybody know what to do?

I'm not sure we're thinking about the same mission cause I'don't remember any monster Are we talking about the one in which you're trying to find info on the Dragons?

You have to escape the party, but you go into this building and are attacked by mages, one of them conjures a weird tornado thingy.

ok...For me there was only one mage and he used lightning. I beat the 2 guards and the mage by using a fury spell, after many failed attempts.

Yeah, It looks like a Storm Atronach.

Never encountered that. I guess you could try doing what I do (if you happen to be a sorcerer) and cast fury spells to make them attack each other. (That was the first time I used that tactic and though it's difficult to pull of it's now become my fallback for when there are lots of powerful enemies you can't beat.)
