Hello again everyone! My new heavy armor Orc warrior has been getting much better with his blade and is now in need of help. What one handed weapon does everyone suggest and why? Sword, Axe, or Mace? Thanks and if you need any more information just ask!

It depends on what one you like..The sword swings the fastest then its axe and mace..

Hard to say whats more popular but my money is on swords being the most used.

Swords have perks for crit damage and mace has perks to ignore so much % of armor. I can't remember the axe perk.

When I play a mage I typically only carry a mace unless its a unique sword like windshear(which I think is the best weapon in the game).

All my warriors use swords.

Axe perks give you extra bleed damage.

I always liked axes for orcs in heavy armor. It just fits. :)

Swords, they swing faster, have the fastest damage per second and longest reach, as they swing faster they activate enchantments more often. Also the weapon specialisation perks like the crits for swords, bleed damage for axes etc are useless, don't waste perk points on them.
I simply chose swords because they are more civilised.

Shiney, let's be bad guys.
To me an orc without a war axe just aint right.

Unimproved, Swords do the most DPS. I like the bleed effect for axes, some people say it's negligable by the numbers, I've noticed the difference in game. For Dual Wield, I like one of each, with Dual Flurry, you can stack those effects quickly. There's also more enchanted swords in the game, some better than you can make yourself, like the Blade of Woe Windshear, and Drainheart Sword.

The Blades' Sword has the longest reach in 1 hand weapons, not counting Miraaks', it mught be a tie. On a left hand power attack, you can sting even 2 handers if you time it right. The off hand hatchet attack is powerful, and fast, but takes a ton of Stamina, and comes with a slow normal attack. (Also slows down your dual attacks.) I've pulled it off with a sword in the main, it's different, and I kind of love the shear brutality of it, but far less efficient than the other way. Not unlike a Shield without the Block, and a lot more damage.

I don't like Maces, too slow. I had 1 "Charger" build that made it count with Critical Charge, the swinging speed is less of an issue if you hit them once, and knock them back a couple steps if they survive it. Basically traided the reach of a 2Hander for a shield. Strait up DPS builds, this is a bad choice, Spellswords can make it count, but an Axe is generally better for either.

!he only Battleaxe I use (Because Bound Battleaxe is Glitched) is the Drainblood. That fighting style (Hack&Bash) it a lot more firgiving with such a light one. I can make do with the Headsman's, but the lack of damage is lackluster. If you want better, you'll have to make it. Rah'd Longhammer is the highest DPS 1 hander in the game with Orcish Smithing, and Elemental Fury. As close as you can get to Dual Wield. It overtakes the Ebony Blade just on how much damage it transfers to the target unenchanted. It's not a waste to enchant it either (I prefer 2x Drain Stamina.) This can eclypse Volendrung, which is the best you can get without crafting. Reach, Speed, hits like a log trap, drains their stamina, and gives it to you. I hate Warhammers, because they aren't more like that.

I use a greatsword the vast majority of the time. Even if I'm going for one of those Endgame monsters, I fight my way to it with about a meter, and a half of Skyforge Steel. It's lighter than most Sword/Shield combo, and I fought my way through, to the Bloodskal Blade, solo, below level 5. (Steel Pure.) That there is the best 2 hander in this Era, so far.

Mr Forz

I'm helping. Mostly.
Unfortunately yes. In effectiveness, the Sword will beat the Axe and the Mace, the few points of damage that is lost is caught back by a much more valuable attack speed.

Besides if you want someone dead, whatever you choose will get you to the same result, and you may prefer getting the feel of slaughtering someone with an axe than with a sword. The Bleeding on it is underrated too.

Use an axe, nothing screams berserk than hacking apart your enemy with an axe. Unarmed killing also, nothing screams berserk than killing them with your bare hands when your axe becomes blunt from hacking apart all those who stand in your way.

I'm a sword man myself, although I will occasionally use a single handed axe. Never once used a mace or warhammer. There's just something more heroic looking about a sword to me.

yeah this. aside from the damage differences between the 3 swords are the more heroic and expensive weaponry, a knight or nobleman would have a sword/dagger.
I often use axes if I'm hunting or roleplaying a hunter because an axe is both a weapon and a tool, so it could be used for chopping wood or chopping heads.
A mace is more of a crude weapon, It's designed solely for combat like a sword but it's far easier to use, swords require a lot of skill to use well in combat, a mace is useable by a peasant as it is by a knight. I normally use these if I'm roleplaying a Mercenary or more evil type character, I wish there was a spiky mace though

Yeah, and the load screen with the bloody orc dual wielding axes is scary as heck.

Swords - Have a _% chance of doing critical damage. Also the fastest of the three.
Axes - Axes do more bleeding damage. Have a DPS between the two.
Maces - Maces ignore _% of armour. Slowest of the three.

It also depends on what type of enemy your facing. Maces are useful against enemies wearing armour , like bandits and other thugs. Axes do more bleeding damage so it can be useful against enemies like Dragons , Giants , Mammoths etc. Sword does critical damage and doesn't has any perks similar to the ones above so it is recommended for either situation. I usually keep a sword with me as it is useful in almost all situations , has the fastest DPS and finally , weighs less.
