I thought the same for a game I bought years ago called '8'. This was obviously a blatant rip-off of a game called '7'. it had veeeeery similar things going on, like chocobos, a character called Cid as well as summoned demigods called Ifrit & Shiva. Flippin' heck, even the magic names were the same..
