Revealing the unseen (Mzulft Ruins) Glitch

I'm having trouble with this quest, Please help, this is an excerpt taken from a walkthrough,"Search Gavros Plinius. He has a Mzulft key and a Research log showing he was there to deliver and focus some crystal in the Oculory. Unlock the door to the east using the Mzulft key."

The problem is the man is not dead, and is just giving generic responses, cannot talk, pickpocket or kill him. and its the ONLY way in, I know people are having this issue its on yahoo answers but without an answer :/ ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

And sorry I forgot to add this is right in the first door in the ruins, the man sitting to the right of the inside door, thanks again!

Definitely bugged. No way to fix it unless you try loading a previous save and going at the questline again. Or you can move on to something else until Bethesda brings out their patch they're working on hopefully fixing it.

Weaaak, thanks man. Huge buzzkill on the game though, playing as a mage unable to complete the main mage quest.

Have you got the quest for the staff of magus(magnus?)?
I just did that last night. It takes you to Mzulft and when you walk in the first door the mage sputters a few things and dies allowing you to loot the body. Sputters about the focusing crystal which I think starts the quest

question on this one...... where do you find the key for the oculary? I have cleared the place and have not found the key I need to complete this?

yeah so the guy that is meant to splutter and die just sits there, saying yes. can not pickpocket. can not move forward with the questline. not fixed with patch. all earlier saves are the same. bummer.

If you mean the Key for the observatory, you can find it in the opposite direction of it, there are a few staircases leading down, open the door there, and kill the Centuriomaster, behind him is a chest where the Obsercatory key's in.
