Ok so I am trying to Improve my minions ability to Kill and not be killed. What are some the best combinations of enchantments?

Right now I can only do 1 enchantment per Item But I could still use some advice for when I get that to 100. Also I probably will be swapping between Lydia and Jenassa. I will probably also try one of them mage types at some point.

Followers

It can get lonely being the Dragonborn, sometimes. Luckily, Skyrim has a multitude of followers you can gain by doing various quests, or hiring from taverns in the cities throughout the land. Each follower has a certain skillset and stats that make them unique, and the best choice of who to take along with you on your adventures is often dependent upon what kind of character you are playing. It is wise to choose followers to either augment your playstyle with similar aptitudes, or to choose a follower that can fulfill a certain role that your character lacks. Regardless of who you decide to have tag along with you, all followers share certain features, and some of them may surprise you:
  • Will use health potions that you give them, although many followers are "immortal" in that they only permanently die if you accidentally kill them yourself
  • Still have an Armor Cap of 567 (like the player), but don't have a Magic Resist cap
  • Do not benefit from some enchants on armor/clothing
  • DO benefit fully from weapon enchants
Followers will equip gear that you enchant for them, as long as the stats of the gear are better than what they are currently using. This means that the crafting template's effectiveness can be duplicated upon others, and you can "create" very powerful helpers by using crafting. This is especially true with regards to enchanted weapons, as your followers gain full effectiveness from weapon enchants, and can really dish out amazing damage as a result. An excellent choice of a weapon enchant for a follower is Absorb Stamina, as this will allow him/her to very frequently power attack and do double damage per hit. Give your follower two enchanted weapons to dual-wield, and their combat efficiency skyrockets! It has been noted by testers that a shield-using follower is actually less efficient, due to the fact that they will frequently block when it is unnecessary and counterproductive.

Here is a article on most info you'll need to know about followers other than follower specifics, like what they're good at, but it lists what enchants that affect followers. LINK

Janessa likes light armor, archery, and one-handed... she's also one of the few followers that will naturally dual wield one-handed weapons.

While Lydia likes heavy armor, archery, and one-handed.

Man, I read the subject and thought you meant LITERALLY. I bet Lydia could bring in more than 100 septims a day. Best get a good supply of cure disease potions first.

Thanks for the info Golgo and Streets. I am a little disappointed that Fortify <Combat Skill> doesn't work though.

There should be a human trafficking option. In Fallout3 you could sell people to slavers and in New Vegas You could recruit a few Npcs to offer services in one of the casinos.

Plus who hasn't wanted to threatened to sell Lydia to Belethor if she doesn't stop getting in the way.

Or not. Very few followers will dual wield weapons (Jenassa is one of them).

If you go to the Followers article at UESP Skyrim Wiki that Golgo_SPB mentioned in his post above and go all the way down to the bottom of the page their is an external link to a spreadsheet with Follower stats at their max level. Followers will equip the best armor and weapons that match their primary weapon and armor skills. Lydia has 100 one-handed, block and heavy armor skill so equip her accordingly.

I don't know what testers noted this but this claim is simply false. The Housecarls will sometimes go Captain America on an enemy and shield bash them repeatedly but it's hardly counterproductive. They are the best melee combat followers in the game and they are all shield users.

Some followers will constantly revert back to their default bow if they have one even if you give them a Legendary Daedric Bow. If you want your follower to use ranged attacks and don't want them to use the default bow you can give them staves instead as most will equip and use them.

I did notice with Jenassa When I gave her a pair of tempered war axes she would rush in head first instead of using her bow. Which is the opposite of what I need her to do so I took one away and that seemed to fix it
