History
Overall Background: Aislin was born to a Merchant Father and a High Priestess Mother. Early on in her childhood, Aislins mother was battling an (to this day unknown) entity. It was rumored to be a powerful demon, but no one remains alive who would know for sure. Aislins mother trapped the demon inside various soul gem fragments, hiding them in locations all around Skyrim, keeping the largest piece on her person and, implanting 6 of the fragments into her very daughters body. Three fragments rest on either side of Aislins eyes, they were what caused her blindness. They are also what enable her to see. Part of the demons essence allow her access to vision, though it is distorted by the spirits presence and she is often left seeing things that others cannot.
Because of this connection to a demon, her soul is tainted. As long as she remains connected to it, her life span is slowly being sapped away faster than most. She is weak and sickly, unable to physically fight back in any way, shape of form. Her mother taught her to use conjuration and restoration magic in tandem to consume the life force of all living things. More often than not, having her summon Dremora and sap their life forces to extend her own. However, Aislin disagrees with this method of "stealing" life, and has chosen instead to devote herself to the gods and let her fate be of their will.
Friends and Enemies
Friends: She has a few friends from her hometown, but considered them more acquaintances than anything else. People tend to fear her due to her strange eyes and the story behind them. Her only close ally is Astien, a Mage who she found dying a short ways from Whiterun a few years back. She healed him back to proper health and he has been her only loyal friend and companion ever since, following her wherever she goes and aiding her as best as he can.
Personal Enemies: None she is aware of.
Job and Economic Status
Current Job: Priestess in training
Living Conditions: She travels on a pilgramedge, offering her blessings at every major hold in Skyrim, because of this she sleeps in the temples rooms offered for guests. She hs not seen her childhood home for many years.
Transportation: Often moves by foot, occasionally by horse and carriage.
Religion and Ethics
Beliefs: She is a devout follower of the 9, worshiping Talos despite her elven ancestry and lack of Nord blood or Stormcloak loyalty. If forced to choose, she would side with the Imperials over her desire to see a united front and repair what is already built than attempt to tear it down and start anew. Her mother taught her that when something breaks, you fix it, not throw it away. She finds the Stormcloak and Imperial battle to be pointless, and feels that they would be better off joining forces to overthrow the High Elves that are suppressing them, rather than bickering amongst each other in petty politics.
Ethics and Law: She obeys the law to the best of her ability, but feels some guards are too quick to judge and make assumptions, either being overly friendly when they see what they assume is a little blind maiden, or being cold, stiff and awkward towards her.
Relationships, Romance
Married or in a Committed Relationship: Single
Dating: She finds little time for romance with her pilgrimage as her main focus.
Heterosexual, Bisexual, Gay, or Other: Pansexual
Sexual Desires: None she is aware of or willing to acknowledge.
Daily Routine
Daily Routine: She wakes up early in the morning, just as day breaks, to offer her prayer to the nine. One she has prayed, she usually bathes and dresses in her ceremonial garb, partakes of a meager meal and begins her chores. Usually she is tending to the wounded or sick who may be visiting whichever temple she currently resides at. Other times, when the temple is empty, she will help clean and dust it into pristine perfection.
After her chores, she leads a prayer for the followers of the temple and offers her aid as a listener for those who are mourning or in grief or simple need someone to talk to.
When mid-day arrives, she helps cook a meal for the beggars of the city, as well as to the followers of the temple and sits down with them as a friend to dine.
After mid-day, she retires to her chambers for a few hours for personal study. Occasionally, this is time for her to practice her magic, other times she studies her scriptures, once in a while, if she is weary, she will sleep.
Come night fall, she sees the temple visitors off to their homes and joins the head priest or priestess for supper, discussing the days events and upcoming plans.
When supper has adjourned, the high priest or priestess leads one last prayer for the evening and sends her off. She is then free to do as she pleases until day break the following morning. Usually, this involves shopping or errands for the temple or other various jobs she can find around the city she is in.
Aislin moves from temple to temple, of every hold once every 4 months. She will continue this pilgrimage until she has prayed and received the blessings of every temple in all the holds of Skyrim. When this has ended, she will move on to other places in Tamriel, such Morrowind, DaggerFall, The Imperial City and/or its surrounding areas. She will not be made a high priestess until this pilgrimage is complete. Unlike most high priestesses, she took this journey upon herself, and treats her pilgrimage with pride and respect.
Five people you see most often:The head Priest or Priestess of the temple she currently stays at, The Grocer of whichever city she is in, the Jarls Mage *She often visits them in her free time in the evening, to help her studies*, The apothecary shopkeep and the innkeeper, *She visits the innkeeper for various baked goods she cannot get from the grocer*.
Favorite thing about your daily routine: The warm feeling she gets inside when she has helped those less fortunate than she.
*Some Lore States that Bretons are the offspring of Elves and other races. So a child of an Elf and a Breton, would actually be ¾ elf, rather than half. But who says 3-4th Elf? That silly~
