To be honest, I don't always kill them on sight. I don't make it my mission to go out and kill as many Thalmor as I can, I express my hatred toward them because I am a proud Nord - I do not worship Talos, I hate them because they think they are the dominant race, and I'm competitive and beg to differ.

If they pass me by on the road and talk all snotty and act all powerful and and dominant, I am going to cut their heads off and assert my dominance.

As a Socialist by nature, I believe in equality, so those who believe themselves superior, be it my own race or another will be highly disliked. Supremacism comes across as arrogance, something I also dislike. Some Altmer may have greater prowess in the fields of magic in comparison with other races, but magic isn't everything, just because some people who are black are exceptionally good at basketball, it doesn't mean every single black person is good at basketball. Hitler claimed that the Aryan race was perfect, and that Blacks were beneath them, he got quite the surprise at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
I dislike the Thalmor, but I pity the Aldmeri Dominion. The systematic purges by them will have led to normal citizens living in fear (Sources: Legate Fasendil and Malborn) Just south of Lake Inilialta into a cliff face near the unmarked bandit camp that gives 'Treasure Map I' There is a Shrine of Talos with some dead worshippers and a deceased Thalmor, on his person is a note from Elenwen, here is the link Thalmor Orders - The Elder Scrolls Wiki . Essentially saying that the Thalmor in Skyrim are lacking in resources and personnel greatly, so any propaganda stating they could easily win another war... I have my doubts.
I don't make it my duty to systematically kill every single Thalmor, but if a Judiciar attacks me I won't hold back.

I did think they were bad but then realized... my character does necromancy, eats people, takes their souls and sends them to spend eternity in Soul Cairn. That character makes the Thalmor seem nice.

To be honest I love to hate them :p. In real life I never like bold and bragging people so it is not hard for me to hate them. I like to kill their Justicars and their guards, they are fun to battle and provide a nice loot. It was very nice to discover a letter about myself where I was described as a very dangerous enemy of the Thalmor :D.
I like to assassinate the Thalmor boss in Markarth, not always easy and very good fun.

This however does not mean I would not try a pro Thalmor (a spy of some sort) character and blog it as he sends reports to the Thalmor headquarters and generates as much trouble and chaos in Skyrim as he is able to :D

I take it you Thalmor supporters also agree with what Nazis did too.

Is jumping to extreme conclusions in a single bound your super power or something? Holy moly. Thalmor ≠ The Nazi's. Plus, the Nazi's were terrible people IRL... not a video game. You really can't assume that Thalmor supporters like the Nazi's, because honestly, no *sane* person supports what the Nazi's did.

Yes. They are similar in almost all aspects, though. The Nazis killed people for real, so yes, people don't like them. The Thalmor kill fake people and think fake people are lesser than them, so it's easier for people to agree with them. Thalmor are pretty Nazi-ish.

Nazis killed millions of innocent people but if you look back at various countries history you will see many examples of religeous persecution, it used to be a very common thing when a country was conquered. take into account that the nords invaded the elves in skyrim. the elves were there 1st. It is not surprising that the elves hate the nords.

Similar in some ways? Yes. But that does not mean that Thalmor supporters agree with the heinous actions of the Nazi's.

For the record, I'm not a Thalmor supporter, so I'm not giving you a biased opinion. Your statement was just in extremely bad taste.

I think he just worded it wrong.

What I got out of the post was, both the Thalmor and the Nazis believe that they are superior to all other races, and they will go through great lengths to do so.

In the Elder Scrolls Online, the Aldmeri Dominion's plan is to take over all of Tamriel because they believe they are the superior race, the Nazis had the same belief. Both don't work out.

What he said was a low blow, but if you think about it, you can see some comparison.

I find similar traits between Ulfric and Hitler because they are both extreme nationalists and did anything for their race.

Nobody agrees with what the Nazis did. I just read his post differently which is why I gave him rep.

To anyone who found my post insulting, I am sorry. It was a joke. Thalmor ultimate goal: elven supremacy. Nazi ultimate goal: Aryan supremacy. I'm not saying Thalmor supporters like the Nazis, but they believe in the same basic thing: racial supremacy.

The Atmorans came to Tamriel to get away from the bloody civil war in their homeland. They arrived and payed their respects to the Snow Elves. The Elves thought that they were a threat, so you attacked and slaughtered us. Only three Atmorans survived and fled, I'm sure you know there names, as well as this knowledge.

Long story short - We were just immigrants, no need to attack us, because we almost destroyed your race out of revenge. You started it. :p

I can see were ure coming from but I think he means that if u have good moral values in real life why would u have bad ones in a game, and I know its a game. but the Thalmor are the Benevolent force in skyrim.

Sorry if I overreacted. I'm not even a Thalmor supporter. I just can't imagine saying that Thalmor supporters actually liked what Hitler was trying to do IRL. RL is very different from a game.

But, anyway. Sorry again if I jumped the gun there. :)

I play an assassin. A thief. A werewolf. Why? Because it's a fantasy game. The whole point of Fantasy games (IMO) is to explore things you could not or would not usually explore in real life.

By your logic, people who do bad things in Skyrim are bad people in real life. It doesn't work that way.

I am not a nord enthusiast, nor Thalmor. You are correct, many cultures have had religous persecution. BUT, here is the story of the snow elves, the original Skyrim inhabitants. Nords had traveled to Skyrim, and settled there, being peaceful with the elves. The nords repopulated extremely quick compared to the elves, so the snow elves committed genocide upon the nords. Ysgramor then returned to Skyrim with his army of 500 warriors, to fight the race that killed their people. That's when most of the snow elves went to live with the dwemer. The altmer don't even really fit into the equation here, but all the races that would have any quarrel with the nords for this act, have 1-2 people left.

And now we're going to finish it haha. You cannot blame the elves, they saw the immigrants as a threat and they were right.

My logic im confused I was just saying what I thought Darth Brogan meant, the only thing I said in the last post is. I think the Thalmor are the benevolent force in skyrim meaning i think thats why Darth Brogan compared them to the Nazi's. maybe i have read the post or wrote something wrong my grammers bad lol.
