Which is the best weapon for a vampire lord? Which one would you prefer to wield and why?
Clearly Harkon's Blade is a much better choice. All the Mace of Molag Bal does is damage stamina and magicka, as well as soul traps the afflicted target. The sword on the other hand absorbs health, stamina, and magicka. Plus it doesn't take up one-third the size of the screen like the mace does. Therefore, Harkon's Blade is the more ideal choice for a vampire build.
I just wish they would fix Keening so that it would hold magical charges.
Nothing else looks quite like it .
It`s the dagger equivalent to Harkon`s sword which if functional could be used by a non-vampire as well.
well . i`ve got the gear thanks to the Atronach Forge and Radiant Rainment so I`ll try it out.I've heard a rumor that if you wear 100% destruction cost reduction gear, making weapons not require expending charges, that Keening actually works! I have not personally tested it. It's hearsay on the UESP: Skyrim:Keening - UESPWiki

Before Skyrim released, the Mace of Molag Bal always absorbed Strength and Magicka since the time of Daggerfall. The way I see it, his way of dominating a foe is to destroy their vital essence. Since Attributes don't exist in Skyrim, Damage Stamina(to Bethesda) was the best choice to compensate for this. Until Dawnguard, Bethesda didn't make direct reference to him being the creator of vampires. In fact, the first time any association(as far as I know) between the two was made in the Lamae Bal book, which first appeared in an Oblivion DLC(The Vile Lair).I wonder why Bethesda didn't have the mace absorbing health since it is the weapon of the god of vampires?
great idea ! the sword in the off-hand should speed up that big maceI actually use both.
