Kohlar the Unkilled

Time for some ale
I purchased Horker Attacks, envisioning gruesome or perhaps humorous accounts of Horkers attacking unfortunate passer by's... How I was disappointed by the books' lack of content. The Legend of Red Eagle was a bit better, and yet far from riveting. I plan to sit down with some mead and read Aedra and Deadra, and The Fall of Ahzidal next. What have you found to be the books worth reading? Any?

I like the Real Barenziah series. I made it point to collect them all to read the story.

I also like Nightingale: Fact or Fiction, 16 Accords of Madness (all three volumes, 7,9, and 11), Chance's Folly, Charwich-Koniinge Letters (volumes 1-4), and Confessions of a Khajiit Fur Trader.

Lusty Argonian Maid for the win.

I also liked "Great Harbingers" when I first read it as it gave me a historical basis of just what my new title really meant.

Aye, that made me wonder a little bit about what the fluff was up with that. Dark family secrets, maybe?

I liked "The Locked Room" and "Chance's Folly". Also "A Game at Dinner" and "Horror of Castle Xyr" were interesting towards the end. "Racial Phylogeny" was informative. And "The Cake and the Diamond" and "Thief of Virtue" are worth mentioning. There are others that are less memorable, but I'm glad I read them.

To be honest, I really liked all of the Daedra books, as that was a good source of info to learn more about them. The one with that guy going through a few realms of Oblivion (what an idiot) was very interesting when he described it. Also, the one where Sheogorath makes a deal with some mage, saying that if in 3 days he doesn't go mad, he will grant him power or something. Then, the mage does indeed go crazy, even though Sheogorath didn't do anything. It was simply is paranoia. I like all of them though.

I also didn't mind those books about the cabin in the woods, pretty eerie.

Any book that is dark/eerie are the ones I like.

All of the above.

Herbane's Bestiary are good. Pretty much a guy boasting about all the stuff he's killed in a few different books. He's actually one of my planned characters, coming out of retirement to finally find something that will make him tremble.

I liked Annals of the Dragonguard and Holdings of Jarl Gjalund (sp?) from the main quest, they both had lots of little nuggets of ancient lore in them. Anything with historical content is great, imo.

The Mirror and a lot of the other skill books are actually really good reads, and some of them do give you a deeper understanding of the skill you increase. Other books written on a specialist subject are good, too, like Hammer n Anvil.

Any books in a series, I want them, and I will sit in a quiet spot or tavern and read the whole series. (Or cheat and look on uesp :p)

I could go on

Ah, superb! I get to make use of that new wooden chair I constructed, as it appears I've some reading to do.

So nobody else enjoyed Horker Attacks either? Not terribly surprised.

I enjoyed reading The Real Barenziah alongside the official biography to compare them. It was pretty interesting.
I found "Chaurus Pie: A Recipe" to be an entertaining read. It isn't very long, and the content is pretty humorous.
Another book I found interesting was "Herbalist's Guide to Skyrim". It mentioned a handful of alchemy ingredients, their purpose, and where to find them. It included well-drawn pictures as well. Just a nice little read for the alchemist with free time.
Two final books I enjoyed were "The Locked Room" and "The Cabin in the Woods".
Although I should say that I tend to hoard any sort of letter or journal. I find them to be the most interesting of books. Especially Cicero's journals.

Lusty Argonian made and The Real Barenziah (All Volumes of both) and all of the random notes and journals I find.

There's another 'hunting'-style book called "Troll Slaying" that is actually pretty amusing: the author frequently pokes fun at those who have been killed whilst hunting trolls, since they obviously 'were too cheap to purchase his book'. It's also a bit of a reference to a metal band from Finland, Finntroll ("Finn" is listed as the author of the book).

I liked the 4-part series "Beggar", "Thief", "Warrior", "King"; lots of reversed names as characters and pretty entertaining.

Flying lawnmowers are cool.
The 4-part series of books "Beggar" "Thief" "Warrior" and "King" as well as the series of books called "Ancient Tales of the Dwemer." I also enjoyed the book whose title is somewhere near the lines of "The Gold Ribbon Merit."

and the Lusty Argonian Maid

If you are into the books in the game, there's a good book mod that adds about 200 or so new books into Skyrim. Most of which were books that were in older TES games. A bunch of those were pretty cool.
