I came across this bug and did a search for help here. I found someone else who reported the same problem in the pinned Master List of Known Issues thread, but right after that Finalchrono asked that we start a new thread for issues.
What happens is that whenever I am anywhere near Farkas, he comes up and talks to me, forcing my character to spin around and face him even when I'm in the middle of talking to someone else! It was murder going through this with him in the Proving Honor mission where he was tasked with following me all the way through that entire loooooooooong dungeon. It was soooo frustrating. Not only that but about half way through the mission, the screen starting flashing light blue all over the place. It reminded me of a blue screen that they use in movie-making. In this case, the blue screen would wipe out areas of the dungeon and bits and pieces of the characters as well (like part of my character's forearm etc.)
I ran a system update last night on my PS3 and received a 92MB file for Skyrim but the Farkas bug is still happening. I haven't seen the blue screen since last night but I've only put in 2 more hours since then.
Is there any help out there for either of these issues?
EDIT TO ADD: BTW, as soon as Fargas starts doing this to me, he follows me EVERYWHERE! I can't even escape him by going inside my own house (Breezehome)! I can even sprint away from him up the steps to Dragonreach and watch him chase after me! Grrrr! The only thing I've found that can get rid of him for the time being is to stand right by my door (on the inside of my home) and once he pops in, cancel out of his conversation 2 or 3 times until he decides to walk away (through the door back outside). At that point, he doesn't follow me until I show up inside of Jorrvaskr again (or anywhere he can see me).
