Bosmer. Te future of elves?

I just realized that Bosmer seem to be the only widespread mer race to evolve naturally. Altmer have a fanatical breeding program, Dunmer were cursed, and don't even get me started on Falmer. Does that mean the little wood elves are the natural course for all of them?
