Well, this is a little like stepping into a Tavern/Inn in Skyrim. One reason I am here is because when I first came to North California in 1994 I knew no-body, except my family. A small group in a rather humongous continent. I'm from the UK, so I'm drawn to medieval-ish RP games and Bethesda games suited me to the ground. I've played every Elder Scrolls game from Arena until Elder Scrolls On-Line which I don't play because $15.00 a month is beyond my means and I object to it....'cos I'd get addicted (possibly). Although I might have the time ( all my children are grown-up) ...I object to paying that to play and I'm a terrible on-line player, since I have no sense of direction. In short, I'm crap. ;> However, I love writing and would hope to do so much more. I'm 57, have had 5 children ( 4 remaining) and used to write on text RP games, so I enjoy character making etc.We are looking for content in the form of articles about the Skyrim experience. They need to be well written (proofreading help is offered) and with a specific point of view and interest in mind. These are not just general forum posts, they will be showcased at this page (which will soon be the home-page of our forums).
If you are interested in joining a writing team, coming up with topic ideas and creating signature content for SkyrimForums, please post below on what kind of things you'll write and send a message to Rayven and Renegader by clicking here.

Think of it like a magazine article. If the forums were Skyrim Magazine, what kind of content would you want to read? I think there will be the occasional fan fic but it would have to be in short story format or else a teaser to the rest of the content already posted in the fanfic section.
I think a series on "The Ultimate: <Build or Concept>" might be a good entry, for example. We have a ton of build conversations so people are interested in that. That sort of series can be expanded in many directions depending on the authors and interest.
I also think that the personal experience of the members is a good thing to have here. Not In Character stuff, necessarily. That's more like the blog. I think articles on the game mechanics would be very interesting. Since the Creation Kit is out, I'd also like to see some tutorials on various aspects pertaining to that as people dive into it.
I think there's more than enough room for opinion pieces as well, perhaps pitting one build against another or comparing storyline choices and such.
I'd like to have a shot at writing about ideas which could improve game quality, immersion wise as well as general annoyances or things that need some Nexus mods on
I would like to post a complete character guide, I have already written it and would like it to be on this forum.
Never once in my several years at SF (through various accounts) have I considered writing for the forums. I do a lot with characters and pay close attention to specific lore, since that is the one thing that Bethesda has been very vague on. I'm told that I have skill in writing; seeing as I'm been accepted into the selective Creative Writing program at my college, I doubt that's false. If anything, I'd probably be better at mentoring others when it comes to character creation and development, and plot development.
I doubt that this has much to do with what you guys are looking for (on this thread), but I thought I'd take a peek and consider it. Perhaps that mentoring idea is what I should be doing.
Dabs, hurry! You needz to conquer the world!I could probably write about mods once I have my new computer made. No idea when that will be though.
In the mean time... I have nothing to contribute really at the moment. But I will soon enough lol
I'd definitely be interesting in discussing mods for newcomers, especially for newcomers(I myself play without mods if I can help it, though I'm looking for a John Cena mod myself, don't ask).Recently, I had wanted to begin a series of articles discussing mods. For many people the continuing draw and allure of Skyrim is how much you can add to the game through mods, but there are always new people exploring them for the first time who have no idea where to start. I wanted to put together a list of the mods I felt were the best options for expanding the game content, as well as exploring those individual mods, complete with installation, load order conflicts, and troubleshooting guide.
I also wanted to test various mods others have asked about -- check for incompatibilities, load order conflicts, quality of content, etc.-- and do head-to-head comparisons between similar mods to help people choose which is more what they're looking for.
Sadly, my computer is now unable to play Skyrim in any way that would allow me to test or explore what I would need to write my articles, so if there's anything in the above that piques your interest, I'd love to unleash you on it and see what happens.
Otherwise, I think we can brainstorm a few ideas here.
