How do you backstab a Dragon?
While I do like so many things about Oblivion: example: That you can carry a shield and still be able to cast spells, that you really don't have to think about what you're improving, it just happens, etc...
I am a bit disturbed on a couple of things:
1) Houses are SO EXPENSIVE! I just bought my place in Bruma, 10K! Furnishing it is a 1840 for each room. Yikes! It's going to take me forever to get all the homes.
2) There are so many overlapping storylines that it gets confusing. Everytime I turn around there's something else somebody wants me to do. Sure, I can ignore what's going on with the NPCs, but on the main questline, not only do I have to retrieve crap for Martin all the time, but I have to now travel to all the cities and convince them to help Bruma! Good gravy, who has the time! I've only made it to one city so far. Now I don't mind closing the Oblivion Gate (I actually enjoy the other plane), but, really? This is going to take forever.
3) Burglary is ridiculously easy. For goodness sake, people are giving me their keys all the time. Either I have an honest face or their just idiots.
4) I absolutely hate the puzzles/investigations. I'm currently in the one where you have to find the Portrait of the Duke for his wife and, for the life of me, I cannot find the 3rd clue (or at least I'm stuck at 2 clues and can go no further). Sure I've found the painting and the paints of Chanel, but I've looked everywhere (and burgled everybody's rooms while I was at it - like I said - I had the keys ), but I'm at wits end so I've just given up on this one. The least Beth could have done is give you a clue for goodness sake.
5) Why do enchanted weapons have so few charges? Found a great sword that disintegrates armor, but it only had 12 charges. What good is that? One battle... OOOOO... I'm impressed. Then I sold the dern thing since I have no idea how to recharge anything on my own and I'm tired of paying the occassional mage (which I usually can't find) to charge it for me.
6) Am I supposed to follow my heart or am I supposed to cowtow to the Mage's Guild leader in a particular city just for the recommendation to get in to the University. I actually trust the visiting Mage more than I trust the unpleasant head of the Mage Guild in the City. I'll go get the book, but I don't know if I follow my heart if I'll never be able to enter the University or if I have to do what the guildmaster tells me to. Sheesh
7) Staffs rock. I especially love the Goblin Shaman lightning bolt one. At 111 charges, I use it all the time. It's a shame I'll have to ditch it when it's used up, but, in the mean time, I have an ice storm one in reserve.
8) I still hate lockpicking, but, since I can buy picks at a 100 a time from one of the fences, I can deal with it. I am getting better too. But I still say, since it takes me so long to pick a lock, I'm surprised no-one ever bothers me.
Just my thoughts. I know it's boring. :0
