The dragon crisis is over. The Dragonborn, legendary hero foretold, defeated the legendary Alduin, before vanishing into stories and legends themselves. The civil war that ravaged the land prior to and during the crisis ended when the Stormcloaks, led by their High King and hero, Ulfric Stormcloak, stormed the capital of Solitude, routing the imperial legion and killing general Tullius and legate Rikke. Skyrim won it's independence and for the past year has enjoyed a wary peace. But in the gloomy hold of Falkreath, all is not well. Folk go missing from the road, foresters are found mangled near logging sites. Merchants refuse to travel even well-known roads without heavy mercenary guard. Fear of the unknown runs rampant. The old jarl, Dengeir, is determined not only to protect his people, but to restore order. To that end, he has called upon a team of skilled huntsmen and women, to put an end to whoever or whatever, is preying on his hold. An offer of five hundred septims to the man or woman to bring him proof that the deed is done seems more than enough incentive...but will these hunters survive whatever it is that lurks in the depths of Falkreath? Or will their mangled corpses feed the darkling woods?

    Name: Marhaz Nitheus
    Race: Argonian
    Gender: Female
    Sexuality: Bisexual

Physical appearance: A lean argonian woman, with an angular face, golden eyes, and a trio of small horns, less than an inch in length jut from just over each eye. Her scales are a deep, navy blue. A long scar starting at her chin, runs all the way along her right jaw.

Personality: A no nonsense woman who focuses more on getting results, rather than interacting with others. She does, however have a soft spot for those less fortunate than her, though she cares little for nobility and is especially contemptuous of those who abuse their servants.

Weapons: A steel longsword, with the hilt long enough to be wielded in one or two hands comfortably. She keeps an assortment of daggers on her person. She's adept in destruction and alteration magics, though her sword is her first choice of armaments.

Armour: She wears light leather armour, under a high collared, dark leather coat. Steel plates line the coat, lending additional protection, at the cost of additional weight.

Misc.Gear: A collection of potions and poisons she keeps in a satchel, belt pouches, and within the pockets of her coat. She has a couple dozen septims in a coinpurse at her hip, a few strips of dried meat as rations.

    Name: Dray Sedaris
    Race: Dunmer
    Gender: Male
    Sexuality: Heterosexual

Physical appearance: A tall, (for a dark elf) individual, and well built individual. Dray's dark grey skin tone and ruby red eyes lend him an intimidating aspect. His hair, medium in length, is snow white, making him stand out among his fellow dark elves. A jagged scar at the right corner of his right lip makes him appear as though he is almost permanently sneering.

Personality: Dray's personality switches between caustic and merely contemptuous, depending on his moods. His main concern is coin, and he's willing to do some questionable things to get it. However, he's found that employment as a bounty hunter is more lucrative than being a highway robber or hired thug. So, for now, he falls firmly on the side of the law, even if he doesn't share the same ideals as others who do so.

Weapons: A steel greatsword, forged in the nordic style, an axe of the same material, small metal spikes along each gauntlet, and a pair of daggers.

Armour: Scale and leather armour, with a bonemold pauldron protecting his right shoulder. This mixture of gear gives him a good combination of protection against physical threats and allows him to move quickly, either in pursuit or flight.

Misc.Gear: A grappling hook and rope, septims, a couple healing potions.

Background: (So Dray's backstory is currently undergoing some renovations. I should have it to my liking within a couple days, hopefully sooner!)

    "The Stray"

} nord (skaal) + reachman (forsworn)
    } ambiguous
    } bi/demisexual

    Extended form here.

    APPEARANCE

At first, you notice the empty eyes of a wolf head sitting on top of a bundle of thick timber pelt, but with an entrance grand enough, you could startle the reveal of a gaunt, less-than-fair face and wide, soft grey eyes in your direction; on occasion, they appear to have a small snaggletooth pressing on either far side of their lip due to upper canines that crook outwards. Prey is of nimble stature with long, runner's legs that hold them at a height neither noticeably tall nor noticeably short; the giant fluffy poncho wrapping across their torso and shoulders doesn't give clues to much else about their physicality. They're prime of age, though often assumed younger.

    PERSONALITY
Prey is easily distinguished by the fact that... they don't talk, and in moments they forget they don't, you may notice and raise question at how their tongue appears wholely intact when they open their mouth. With their mute condition, it can take a while to develop an understanding that allows for more depthful conversations between their gestures and another person's verbal ability, though one in the very least can be grateful that they hold a calm, polite, and civilized demeanor that most of their fellow reachfolk do not, granted they do not wear a traditional resemblance, at least to those of Skyrim; one's guess doesn't come easy.

    WEAPONS
} a boar spear with a sturdy wooden stick reinforced with steel and a bone blade framed with stalhrim
} smaller throwing spears reminiscent of rieklings'
} a nordic hunting knife, equally efficient for both butchering and skinning
    } ...are those... claws?

    ARMOR
} a lighter, form-fitting variant of skaal clothes, thick in the collar and hood
} a steel cuff around the neck molded around an assortment of small bone spikes, cushioning provided by a rabbit's pelt
} fluffy wraps over the thick hide of horkers make for decent gloves and leg cuffs
} light-footed and supported soles that work as swift as a hare and as quiet as a predator

    MISC GEAR
Essentials are stored in/secured to a small, black fur backpack with concealed ornaments that indicate Prey's religious orientation — waterskin, bedroll, woodsman axe, linen bandages, salves...

    Fight for the lost
    Name: Zahar Sevaran

    Sex: Male

    Race: Khajiit

    Age: 29

    Marital Status: Single

    Sexuality: Heterosexual

Laterality: When not using his glaive, he's right handed.

Character Appearance: Zahar is big for a khajiit. Standing at six feet, ten inches, he towers over most humans and even some altmer he's met. He's visibly muscular, with a broad chest and large biceps, though his musculature is not bloated to absurd proportions. His eyes are a striking amber in colour, and stand out against his smoky grey fur. A long scar stretches across the bridge of his nose.

    Class: Warrior, two handed variant.

Weapons: A glaive, with the shaft being about five and a half feet long, while the blade is about a foot and a half. The blade curves very slightly on one end, with a long spike that curves upwards at the backside. His claws and teeth are quite formidable.

Armour: Half-plate. Curving steel plate covers his upper torso and shoulders, while the rest of his body is in flexible, layered leather. He wears steel gauntlets, but no gloves. His shins are also guarded by lighter steel plates.

Misc. Gear: A coinpurse, a satchel with food, water, and several trinkets he's picked up on his travels. A moon amulet hangs around his neck, concealed under his armour.

Personality: In a word, predatory. Zahar lives for the hunt, something that throws off his companions, when he chooses to travel in a group. To most he meets, he comes off as a self assured, sarcastic ass. Something he is very much aware of and more than a little proud of. He is more than likely to pipe up with snide comments in moments of stress. He doesn't understand humour as most would, and when he does smile, it's more often the curl of a lip, revealing a long, curving, khajiiti fang.

Combat Preference: Zahar excels in the bloody melee that is combat, swirling his glaive around him to take off arms, hands, and heads. He has honed his natural instincts to sense danger coming long before it has reached him. If he's somehow disarmed, he relies on raw strength to tear into his 'prey'. More than one opponent has thought him defeated, only to have their throat torn out by his fanged maw.

Backstory: Born in Elsweyr, Zahar quickly became known as the strongest and best hunter around. Despite this, he very much wished to travel the wider world as an adventurer. It was shortly before he twentieith birthday that he decided to set out to make a name for himself, with his clans' blessing, and his glaive forged with much ceremony for him.

Setting out, he spent much time in the Empire as a blade for hire, constantly seeking new challenges and fights. His bloodlust was somewhat tempered when he met the khajiiti woman S'ar Jasi, in Leyawiin. He spent over a year traveling and loving her, before she met an untimely end while clearing out a bandit camp.
With her death, Zahar once again reverted into a feared predator, hacking apart those who stood in his way. This attitude has gained him few admirers and many foes. Which only makes the large khajiit happy. As much as he can be, at any rate. The call of some mysterious massacres in Falkreath have piqued his interest.

    Name: Brielle Mantidius
Age: 60 years, but looks about twenty.
    Gender: Female
    Race: Bosmer

Weapons: A steel falchion, an elven dagger, and two bandoliers of four throwing knives, crisscrossing her torso.

Armour: Leather armour, thicker at vital areas, but still light enough she can slink around if she so wishes.

Misc. Gear: A worn, brown traveling cloak. Dried rations, coin, and several minor trinkets.
Fighting style: Brielle is a spellsword, a rarity among her kind, but she knows the value of darkness and stealth. She prefers to get the drop on her foes, harassing them with a barrage of thrown knives and spells before closing in for the kill.

Appearance: Just over five feet tall and just shy of seeming malnourished, Brielle has hazel eyes and light brown hair, usually gathered in a short ponytail. Her skin is slightly paler than most other bosmer, and generally unscarred.

Personality: Cautious, bordering on cold, Brielle is slow to open up to anyone, due to a turbulent childhood, young adulthood, and experiences as a traveling blade for hire. She generally puts coin and getting a job done ahead of making friends. However, she can show some flashes of kindness to those who bother getting close to her.

    Harkatti

    Sorceress Supreme!
In case you are in need of another character,

    Name: Emanuelle Antoire

    Alias: The Raven Knight

    Age: mid-thirties

    Sex: Female

    Race: Breton

    Sexuality: Heterosexual

    Relationship/Marital status: Single

Laterality: Wields her longsword in her right hand, a parrying dagger in the left.

    Afflictions: None

Appearance: Emanuelle is a breton woman of average height and build, with moderate breasts, though her femininity is often hidden by the armor she wears. She's well muscled and clearly in good physical shape, well muscled and flat stomached. In the rare occassions her mask is off, an austere, thin face is revealed, with thin nose and lips, high cheekbones, and hair as dark as a ravens' feathers. Her pale grey eyes are best described as cold and piercing, unnerving many she speaks to.

Armour: Unlike most 'knights' of High Rock, Emanuelle wears an underlying set of dark leather armor, with steel gauntlets and greaves. Over this, she wears a cuirass reinforced with steel plate, and her upper arms and shoulders are also protected by a lamellar(?) like mesh. The most distinctive part of the armor, though is a mask that covers the upper half of her face, invoking the head of a raven. Gilded with silver and gold, the mask is clearly valuable, and ancient. Her lower face is covered by a simple mask of black cloth.

Weaponry: Her primary weapon is a well tempered steel longsword, that she wields in her right hand, more often than not alongside her parrying dagger in her left. The sword has a flat crossguard, a leather wrapped hilt, and a pommel shaped like a ravens' head. The dagger is fairly plain, with a round pommel.

    Class: Swordswoman

Combat preference: Despite identifying herself as a knight, she fights more like a rogue or master swordsman, excelling in one on one duels. Because of her light armor, she can't afford to allow herself to be surrounded by enemies. In the event that there are more than a couple of enemies to deal with, she seeks to dispatch her foes as quickly as possible, stabbing and slashing with her sword, and parrying attacks or breaking guards with her dagger. When set against ranged or magical foes, she struggles unless she can close the distance quickly.

Personality: While coming across as cold and indifferent at first, Emanuelle is a caring individual, willing to help those who need it without question or hesitation. She dislikes those who look out for their own interests instead of innocents, but will only seek conflict if their actions directly lead to the death of others.

    Religion: The eight divines.

    Positive traits: Caring, courageous, determined

Negative traits: Arrogant, dismissive of 'rogue' type characters, perhaps overzealous at times.

Likes: Helping innocents, seeing justice done. Birds of all kinds, but Ravens in particular.

    Dislikes: Cruelty, greed, cowards.

Fears: Her background being revealed, being unable to save innocents.

History: Emanuelle was not always the virtuous 'Raven Knight' she now identifies herself as. For most of her late teen years, and early adulthood, she was a fierce bandit leader, who raided villages and caravans along the road. Due to a series of unfortunate events that saw her bandit group draw more and more attention, Emanuelle and her fellows were ambushed by a large force of breton knights and infantry, that wiped out the entirety of the group, save for the leader, who slipped away from the fighting. With only her iconic mask, which she claims has been passed through her family for centuries, she fled High Rock.

Several years later, rumors surfaced of a lone knight in unique, dark leather and steel, wielding a longsword and dagger. She called herself only the 'Raven Knight' and arrived to help those in need, before disappearing the moment her help was no longer needed. If the reports were to be believed, this lone knight traveled from Hammerfell to Skyrim to Cyrodiil, always alone, never staying in one place for long.

Of course, Emanuelles' true reason for this is her past life as a rogue, something she has no desire to be revealed. She defends this secret by moving frequently, and rarely revealing her face. However, it is a matter of guesswork as to how she'll react if directly confronted by someone. With the disappearances in Skyrim, she sets her sights on the forested, dreary region of the province known as Falkreath hold.

    Name: Djor Blackmane

    Alias: The lone wolf.

    Age: 34

    Sex: Male

    Race: Nord

    Sexuality: Heterosexual

    Relationship/Marital status: Single

Laterality: Ambidextrous, but prefers to use his sword in his right hand.

    Afflictions: None

Appearance: Djor stands at a little under two metres tall, with a broad chest, and well muscled body. He is heavily scarred from numerous battles, and more than a few from sparring lessons in his younger years. His eyes are a light blue, similar to the sky. His hair is black and long, falling nearly to his shoulders. He braids it to keep it out his face, and binds it with leather ties. Despite the fact that he spends most of his time in the wilds, he keeps his beard trimmed short, but still thick and long enough that he has worked short braids into the sides of it.

Armour: He wears a mixture of sturdy leather armour, thicker in the torso and upper leg area, that keeps him safe and allows him to move with some stealth. His shoulders and forearms are protected by somewhat lighter leather, all strapped over a dark green, long sleeved tunic. His trousers are dark wool, treated against the elements but still fairly comfortable. His boots are sturdily made, and durable enough to last through long periods of travel.

Weapons: The weapon he relies upon the most is his bastard sword, which he has affectionately dubbed 'Woolftooth'. Not a horribly creative name, and given because of the wolfs' head pommel. The blade of the weapon is a dark grey, an unusual coloration, though the reason for it is known only to its' creator. His second weapon is a single headed steel war axe, that he wears on his belt. The weapon is unique in two ways; one, the head of the axe is slightly larger, curving down more along the haft than the standard hand axe. The haft of the weapon too is several inches longer than usual. This allows him to wield the axe with two hands if he desires. Finally,, he carries and ashwood longbow, that he uses for ranged combat and hunting, with steel arrows.

    Class: Ranger/Warrior

Combat preference: Djor opens combat with shots from his ashwood longbow, striking down foes with near unerring precision. He can't compete with bosmeri path finders, but he is relatively skilled among men. When closing to melee, he either relies on his axe, a variant of the nordic steel axe, with an elongated haft, so that it may be used in two hands, or his sword, Wolftooth. He's a skilled but cautious warrior, preferring to end a fight as quickly as possible.

Personality: Djor is a grim, quiet individual, at first meeting. The actions of his clans past haunt him still, and so he is slow to make friends and slow to open up. However, he is a steadfast ally, and once he has spent enough time around them, he is a loyal companion.

    Religion: Nine Divines

    Positive traits: Thoughtful, careful, considerate

Negative traits: antisocial (initially), slightly paranoid.

    Likes: Solitude, wandering the wilderness.

    Dislikes:Arrogance, crowded areas/cities, enclosed spaces.

Fears: Being unable to redeem his clan. Others finding out about his clans past.

History: Djor has been taught from a young age to always carry the shame of his families actions with him. Back during the bloody strife of the civil war, Djors' father, Joren Blackmane, lead a guerrilla force of like minded men and women to harass imperial troops and supplies near Falkreath and Riverwood. Their tactics prevailed, for a time.

While moving from Falkreath hold to Whiterun, they were ambushed and cut down nearly to a man. Joren himself was wounded in a holding action, but recovered by his comrades before he could be captured. As he healed, word reached him that the inhabitants of Riverwood had informed the imperials of Jorens' location, and were responsible for the ambush. Once recovered, a furious Joren lead his reformed band to Riverwood, and killed many of the villagers there as a warning to other would be informants.

Several days later, however, a runner found his band hiding out near Falkreath once more. The message the man relayed struck Joren to his core. The people of Riverwood had been innocent, and the reports that they were working with the empire fabricated by imperial agents. Joren and his clan went into a self imposed exile, and the clan has been working to redeem themselves ever since.

Djor still bears his fathers' shame, and upon receiving word of a shadowy plot to throw Skyrim back into another brutal war has stoked a fire of determination in his breast. With some trepidation, he heads for the the meeting place of Falkreath, to join up with like minded fellows.

    Dialogue: This green, if possible.

Sure, @fellowknight I don't see why not. I will warn you that this is a fairly slow moving story (not that there's anything wrong with that) so posts aren't super frequent, nor would I expect them to be.

@Rafen feel free to write up an introduction whenever.
