Cave Point in winter, Jacksonport, Wisconsin. Looking out at Lake Michigan. When it's cold, the spray from the waves in the lake encapsulates all the foliage with ice.
No kidding. We've FINALLY gotten a break from the heat here and it's been raining for the better part of the day so I'm thrilled. And it does look like coral, now that you mention it. I suppose that's really not a bad analogy since the building mechanism of coral follows the same physics as the buildup and freezing of the water from the lake.
Hey, how close are you to the Speedway? I only ask cuz the MotoGP boys will be there this weekend. I love my bike racing. You gotta go, Rayven! You gotta go! I also love the smell of race fuel in the morning.
I'm about 40 minutes from the Speedway. However, I noticed a car show about 5 minutes away that I'm going to try and get grandpa to attend. I've never been to the MotoGP. I worked at hotels the last few years and always had to work extra shifts when this event came to town. I did get a lot of the fans at the properties, though.
40 minutes?! Gaaahhhh! Well, have fun at the car show, and hope you can get your grandpa to tag along. Though I believe he'd have a much better time with the bikes. A dose of race fuel in the morning would do him well.
Well we've seen some beautiful old cars . Before he signed up for the army, he was a car mechanic waaaay back in the 1930's and 40's. So he's got a thing for cars
He'll probably tell me! The thing about Alzheimer's is that although it muddies up recent memory, it seems to really clarify the "way-back" stuff. It's a blessing and a bane, though. Some memories were probably best left in the past. But on the flip side, he has pretty much total (almost eidetic) recall up to about 1950 or so.
