Thanks, man. I have a feeling things are going to get even more interesting now that I have a sidekick. We shall see.

FYI for anyone placing weight restrictions on their companions. I came up with an easy way to calculate the weights when you're hauling loot and such.

Basically, anything your companion is actually wearing or using (sword, helmet, etc.) doesn't count. Only unequipped items. So, in my case, my character can carry 96, which is 30% of his total carry the game allows. Since my companion is allowed to carry an additional 10% of my carry, that means he can carry 32 extra for me. So, when I have a pile of loot and I'm trying to figure out how to dole it out between us I just do this.

My carry weight of 96 plus my companion's additional carry weight of 32 adds up to 128. So, I will sort through the loot until I have no more than 128 in my own inventory. Then, I simply transfer enough to him to get me back under my own carry weight of 96.

This is much easier than trying to give him items one by one and add it up as you go. d;-)

I don't really take TES games realistically to take some of these extremely hardcore ideas but I think I might do something more hardcore with Fallout: New Vegas. Limited ammos, caps, weight carried, etc. Audio journal instead of written journal for Fallout could be very interesting...

Level your character as high as is still bearable in this manner, then Fus Ro Dah someone in the middle of Whiterun and try to survive.

I love the concept behind this Hardcore playstyle so I applied it to my main who is an Illusionist/Assassin and I must say for this particular build there is nothing to be done to make it remotely in the same neighborhood as even slightly difficult. So I upped it a notch and played naked with an iron dagger. If I could assign a difficulty to this I would say silly easy

Now the brighter side of things, started a new char applying the hardcore rules....much better! I dont think I am going to spend any perk points on this character just to keep it even more interesting.

For your illusionist character .. what level was he at when you applied the hardcore restrictions? Also, what carry limit did you set on him?

She was at 41-42 or so with 99% of my perks where I wanted them so hope was kind of lost for her. Thats why I started the new char and played hardcore from the beginning.

Yeah, that's tough. I'm sure it'll work much better with a new character.

Let my arrows speak for me.
Two questions for Bw.
1. Why save BEFORE resting and not after?

2. How were you able to take pictures? Considering your on Xbox360.

I think BW said he was going to be away, but I suspect he's using a camera/cellphone if he's on an xbox and then loading up on a pc, photoshopping to black-n-white, and posting.

One thing I am trying now is making my character a vegetarian. He's a redguard, and I only buy things like Tomatoes and apples for him to eat.

the arrow limit it not to bad. like you said, you find all kinds of arrows as you wander around killing bandits, falmor, elves, etc... The trick is you can't just spam you enemies with arrows with that limit.

While I haven't started a hard core character yet, there have been times when I've had over a hundred arrows of different kinds available to me and I'd find a nice high perch out of the way and rain arrows down on the bandits, outside clearing forts mostly, which was fun because they had no clue where I was, but if I had that limit, I'd have to get closer and be much more sure of my shots.

i use deadric or glass. and after last night i have 27 deadric arrows on hand. 36 glass arrows and between 4 to 5 hundred iron, falmer, or forsworn arrows in my chest. i killed two of those big dwarven battle suits last night and got the deadric arrows. i dont just wanna leave the arrows behind either. so ill put them in my chest and sell them or use them when i run out of the good ones.

I understand you point.
I think for myself, if I were to go hard core and I might eventually, I would limit myself to maybe 30 cheap arrows and 20 good arrows. If I start finding more and more good arrows, I'd drop the cheap arrows for the good ones. Although I know I have cleared some dungeons and well over 50 arrows of dwarven or elven and in the higher levels, ebony and daedric. So, I'm not sure what I'd do yet...
I rarely take iron arrows anymore because steel are better, and Ancient Nords are as good as steel and are dropped A LOT by the dueger and skeletons. Falmer arrows are even worse than iron so I almost never take them.
Anyways, I guess I'm not sure quite yet what I'd do with that limit.
I can understand the reason for it in an RP mode because a quiver full of 100 or more arrows would be cumbersome I'd think and can you imagine if one got stuck on another while trying to rapid fire? the mess of arrows at your feet would be funny. :p

yeah that would kinda suck. but i only carry 50 its just for rping but when i make my all powerful fu guy that wont matter. i just dont want to beat the game so im just messing around right now. i think i might be the only person in the world who hasnt beat the dragon story line yet. or the theives for that matter.

It's funny, on one character, my first one, I no sooner talked to the Greybeards and I was running into dragons all the time it seemed. In fact, I have all the shouts and almost every part of all the shouts and still have something like 15 dragon souls left.
then my second character, I've hardly seen any dragons and have just enough shouts for each of the words.
I startd back on the main quest lines because I started running out of quests. I've had to break out the Wiki page to see if I missed any.
