I didn't notice that but I was thinking, your character never goes to the toilet. It would be hilarius when you could kill a bandit guard while his pissing from fortress. Or even more funny while you are sneaking around some fortress you would get pissed on from fortress, without bandits guard knowing that he just made a critical strike one you... :D :D :D :D

Haha, I honestly hadn't noticed. I'm pretty sure I've seen a suspicious looking bucket between some makeshift walls in dungeons though. I guess bandits are more civilized. Ft Greymoor near Whiterun has one at the top of a staircase iirc.
:) I was wondering, man lot of buckets everywhere ,now I know lol ewww now come to think of it ,I touched few of these buckets.

My theory is that your character waits until you Wait or Rest and then just does it on the floor. :)

I never eat any sort of food in my game, so maybe that explains it for some of us

You brought up something that's been bugging me a little. Every time I try to explain why this game is so amazing, I end up talking about how realistic it is, the sound, the environment, etc. But I always have to throw a disclaimer in there about how when you're in the middle of a battle, you generally will not pause to eat 10 apples, a leg of goat, a cheese wheel and some leeks. Seems rather gluttony and counterproductive when fighting.

I saw this too and was amazed. It was totally a toilet, no doubt. I dropped some linen wraps for the next guy.

There are objects that seem strategically placed chamber pots that I've seen. Now, where they empty them... well, just don't drink the river water, I'm guessing.

Thinking about how the buckets could, in theory, be their chamber pots adds another level of hilarity to placing them on NPC's heads.

I don't think in medieval times there would have been a "toilet" in the modern sense, so they would use these buckets instead.

Ok so no toilets but then why are there sewers? The rat way in riften might as well be a sewer. Also you travel through a sewer during the thieves guild quest line.

Side note: why is it called the rat way when there are no rats?
