Monolith

The Progeny of Vikings
My username harkens back to the good old days. I think I first used it on a couple of message boards back in 2004-2005 when I was a happy, carefree 20-21 year old. Man, a lot has changed since then!
*Shakes off pointless nostalgia*.. so yeah, anyways, where was I? :p Ah yes. 'Monolith' has multiple meanings; one pays homage to the enigmatic alien artifact in Stanley Kubrick's '2001 - A Space Odyssey'. The rest shall remain cryptic and unexplained.. for now. ;)

My username harkens back to the good old days. I think I first used it when I created my hotmail account back in 1996 when I was a 15 year old snot nosed teenager. At that time I had a signature on my email account that said:

"The embodiment of everlasting knowledge."

I thought it was pretty neat at the time. Went along the lines of Knowledge = Power and infinity is Forever. So that is the story of enfiniti.

Ok to make you feel young. My name is actually the first Character I ever had in a AD&D game some 20+ years ago. It has been a while, but I got the idea for my name from the OLD game Wrath of Nikademus which came out in 1987. I just kinda played with the sound and came up with it. Though I used to be asked if it had to do with the dead or death because of the Necro part. But naw, it us just made up.

Though ironically if you google the name there is a death metal band that named themselves after me I guess. LOL

You seem a decent fellow. I hate to die.
Mine is actually a nickname I've given to our male cat. It's not even close to his name, but that's what nicknames are for, right? It could range from dunkalunk, to dunkadoo, to dunklunker, to dunkapaloo. Yeah, I think you get the idea. I like to call him The Character With Character (a shameless steal from Pulp Fiction), so he's definitely earned all those nicknames. And that's not including all the ones that aren't a play of dunklunk. <3:D<3

Cool to see the Latin and Greek names here - that tickles the Classicist part of me! :D

My name is also Latin, literally translated to "a learned raven" or "a taught raven". The first part comes from the phrase docta puella "learned girl", which is used to refer to the love interests of some of the ancient Roman poets. They themselves studied and wrote verse. Being a lover of writing, I decided to be clever and steal that and use it with not puella but corvina instead, which is the feminine version of corvinus, which means "raven". So, yeah. There's my name. It's been my Xbox LIVE gamertag for several months now too, so I didn't just make it up for the forum. :p

I've been using this name everywhere since I was 15 and made my very first Runescape account. >.>

At the time, I was a massive Greek mythology buff and very fond of swimming. One of my favorite things to do was dive underwater, swim the entire length of the park pool, breast-stroking along the bottom and then suddenly pop up beside a friend or family member, scaring them half to death.

I named myself after the Nereids, sea-nymphs, daughters of Poseidon - scary creatures, given the chance to be. As for the 13, that's always been an important number to me - it's the date of my birth, one of my mother's childhood addresses, the day my parents were married, purportedly an unlucky number (I have had Friday the 13th birthdays >.<), but it's brought nothing but luck to me.

Tough to explain. You know the T.V. show on Discovery called, "The Deadliest Catch?" It's about these fishermen in Alaska who catch crabs. So one day, I caught crabs, but I'm not talking the aquatic life-form here, I'm talking about the itchy bastards. Yep.

Also, I usually tend to be an internet troll. The good kind, that makes people laugh... sheesh! :D So I took "The Deadliest Catch" and made myself into "The Deadliest Troll"

You always get up to the craziest things. :D

IF YOU ARE EATING RIGHT NOW, OR HAVE A WEAK STOMACH, SAVE YOURSELF AND DO NOT READ ON!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's my Skyrim character's name. I got it from a character I made up a long time ago (in a galaxy far, far away) named Jim Buffington; a crazy miner who makes/eats radioactive poop because of a freak accident. The poop grants power and strength to those who eat it... and it tastes like spicy shrimp. Those who are allergic to it have these side-effects when they eat it: extreme muscle spasms, random urination, tendencies to kill and/or eat people, horrible rashes from other dimensions, and sore throat.

I'm very sorry you had to read that.

Only the best boardgame ever

Did anyone actually finish this game?! I've played it many times but all the way to the end? Don't think so. Got bored, got tired, someone cheated, someone kicked all the pieces off the board (probably the cheater). Wasn't me btw. :)

I have, multiple times. Though it does take some convincing to get anyone who's playing with me to stick with it until the end.

Punz

Dark Lord of Skyrim
Well, as a teenager, me and my friends were really into pro-wrestling (WWE). We lived, breathed and slept pro-wrestling. After school, we all would gathered at my house and organised wrestling events. WCF was the name of our small promotion. We didn't do that dangerous Backyard Wrestling garbage that hit like wildfire in the 90s. We keep each other safe and never used weapons or cut each other. We built a entrance in the front yard. Setup a boom-box for the theme music. We even made Championship belts out of back-braces and cardboard. Going so far as designing and wearing custom made attire to the "ring", which was nothing more than a couple of mats. We all had gimmicks and character names. Mine was called The Punisher.

At the time and even now, my favorite wrestler is Stone Cold Steve Austin. My character was loosely based off him. When we did our promos (speeches) to the small audience that would gathered or into the camera, my friends never called me Punisher. They called me Punz. Even now, with kids and all, I'm still called Punz on occasion. My son has been nicknamed Lil' Punz by my best friend.

So that's where my username comes from. Punz is short for Punisher. Can't escape it and when I try to, it just feels wrong. It'll probably be engraved on my tombstone or crypt when I die.
