Is this a glitch or are they supposed to do that? and if so for what reason?

Those glowing ball things? No clue... had me concerned the first time I went in there though. I thought they'd either A) give away my sneaking or B) coalesce into some giant mega boss... neither happened, they were just along for the journey.

had to go look that up on wiki as I couldn't remember what you were talking about... now I remember.
As far as I could tell, they were like "BIT" in Tron... kind of showing you the way.

I found them compelling and was also creeped out by them. I was disappointed to see that they served no discernible purpose. Pretty cool effect though.

Was pretty cool actually, too bad you can't keep them someway to use later.

I liked those little light dudes... but I was never able to find the Coral Dragonclaw so I haven't been able to get the Helm that's in there and clear that task from my list. I know where it was supposed to be, looked around to see if it got blasted to the corners or something. Just don't see it.

I wonder if you waited an in-game month, would the dungeon reset and your missing claw re-appear?

I became depressed when I discovered that I couldn't bring them home with me to enslave them.

Yeah... finally made it back. The claw really doesn't seem to be there. But I see that you can get the Coral Claw from Birna in Winterhold... I started out at the Mage's College so I could have gotten that early on and sold it when A) I had no idea what it was and B) desperately needed a few coins. Bummer. I've been to all the other merchants to see if I can find it, but no luck. Oh, well...

if you are on a pc you could always console command one into your inventory to get around this issue.

Ahh that's right. Keep in mind that she doesn't "sell" the claw in her assortment of wares, it's only available through chat dialogue.

That sounds right. It was a lot of bleary all-night playing right at first, and while that rings a bell it also has the quality of an invented memory. Coulda happened, probably did...

Rule of Thumb in Skyrim... DO NOT EVER SELL DRAGON CLAWS!

You will be ever happier if you just keep them on you at all times. :)

They are ghosts of toomb guardian. They rise from the coffins where bodies would have been and ground where they were burried, and lead you to Yngol who is traped in this world and cant go to sovngarde, so that you can send him there.
