Sounds like a Spellsword, or Battlemage. No sneaking, but that kind of diverges away from the whole Sneak/Assassin thing, which you've done. Destruction in one hand, and a trusty Blade in the other (I actually prefer an Axe) is one of the most versatile ways to play, because you have ranged, and close attack, all the various effects,of Magic at your disposal, and some fun Combos, like Flame Cloak, and melee for increased DPS. It's also a high endurance build, once you learn to time tactic switches. Use Stamina for charging, and power attacks while your Magicka recovers, then step back, and blast while you get your Stamina back.Guys, I need a build. This is what appeals (and what doesn't) to me;
Im ok with sneaking.
I have never done melee (warrior not assassin) so i interested.
I LOVE MAGIC.
ENCHANTING > ALCHEMY > SMITHING.
im average with a bow.
Any help would be apreciated, im also interested in the perfect dragon hunting build.
PLEASE RESPOND.
Name: Up to You.
Race: Dunmer, Imperial, and Redguard all start with magic, and weapon skills. Imperials=Heavy, Dunmer=light Redguard=None, either, or both. (Don't start with any Armor levels, so can go any way you chose.) Dunmer also come with Fire resistance, so you don't have to worry as much about your own Fireballs, and a daily Flame Cloak, which is handy for Spellswords until you can cast it yourself. They also come with Illusion, which can be nice for crowd control. Imperials can Calm, and also start with some Enchanting, which is a slow leveler (and the top of your Crafting preferences. I agree, it's the most effective, with the least hassle.)
Skills: 1H(Duh) Destruction, Alteration is good to replace, or reinforce armor (without Smithing.) Also has a lot of utility effects. Restoration for healing, stamina recovery, and Ward to stop dragonbreath. (I don't use them for much else.) I like Heavy Armor, and Robes, just don't waste the Mage Armor, or Matched Set perks, and you should be good to take a few shots. Enchanting, because you like it. That's 5, which I find to be optimal for leveling with enough perks, if you don't waste them.
Perks: Just suggestions here, Skyrim Perk Calculator - Plan the perks for your Skyrim character before spending them! Maybe Avoid Death if you get that high. Smithing is avoidable, because you're going to be augmenting your Armor, and Weapon with Magic/Enchantments.
Spells: I like Flames, Healing, Firebolt, Lightning Bolt, Frost Rune, Ice Spike, Ice Storm, Fireball, Flame/Frost Cloak, Walls of Flame/Frost, Incinerate, Thunderbolt, Icy Spear, Lesser Ward, Fast Healing, Close Wounds, Oak/Stone/Ebony Flesh, Detect Life/Undead, and have various Battle Tactics for using them with a Weapon.
Important Enchantments: Master Robes of Destruction, and Nahkriin (Better than any thing you can make yourself, even with a Crafting Loop.) Otar, Magicka Regeneration, Stamina Regeneration, Firey Soul Trap, Absorb Health, and Absorb Stamina.
Stats: Spend it all on Magicka, until you need Health/Stamina. Then invest in them, but not to the detriment of Magicka. This is your bread, and butter, the other two are just to keep you alive, and moving. Magicka is what allows you to do everything else. Absorb/Regenerate Health/Stamina means you don't have to spend as many level points on them. Do the College of Winterhold quests, they have a lot of useful items including the Staff of Jyrik Gauldurson (Your backup, and a handy Dragonslayer. On the table in front of his chair.) His Amulet Fragment, (Collect them all!) Drainblood Battleaxe (Disenchant) Drainheart Sword (Disenchant one, and save the rest to drop in for dual wield.) Mage's Circlet, Archmage's Robes, and Morokei. Also where you'll buy most of your spellbooks, and robes. Then do the Main Quest, mostly for shouts, and Nahkriin. The Blades Boots, and Gauntlets also match the Mages' Robes nicely.
