All the court mages and most general merchants sell full petty gems. Bring home and sell all the loot. But yeah I'm trying to avoid magic usage so I would need the mace of molag bai to get souls

As for blocking, long story short I have tendonitis in my left hand, so I physically cant block (Xbox controller). However, I always carry a shield.
Might I recommend a two-handed weapon? carrying a shield and not using it is useless unless it has enchantments on it. To me your lowering your damage output for no good reason. Blocking is still important but if you physically cant do it than attack with as much power as possible...
If i were to switch to two handed weapons, what would you reccomend me to use? I'm currently playing with war axes. I'm worried that two handed weapons might be too slow.
Very not easy to clear. That's one dungeon I'd recommend doing while you have Delphine and Esbern, as well as a follower, in tow, and I'd get the follower a conjuration staff of some sort. The Sanguine Rose is probably the most beneficial, but even a flame atronach helps much.Might I recommend a two-handed weapon? carrying a shield and not using it is useless unless it has enchantments on it. Search for 'Longhammer' on Uesp (id link you but Iv gotta go to work). It is a very quick two-handed warhammer. I love it! Be wrned though, the dungeon where you get it is not easy to clear, Id bring a follower and potions for sure..
Probably best to be careful in the north east corner of the map because of all the bears, snow trolls, snowy sabre cats and even ice wolves.
I'm guessing that blocking just takes a lot of practice. As many months as I've been playing, I can honestly say that I have NEVER used block - ever (okay, I tried it once with a sword and board and quit cause I couldn't get the hang of it). Is there a trick to it? I'm currently trying a dual wield at the moment (so obviously no blocking), but am wondering if there's a trick to it?Lucid brings up a good point. With blocking comes shield bash, an invaluable tool. You don't need to spend a perk on the power bash, just hit both buttons at once and give them a little jaw love, stuns them for a second and lets you set up a good power swing.
With 1H/shield, I usually go in with a shield bash, then do a 1H combo. Tap the button once, then tap and hold. It does a slash/power combo, so you get two hits for one. It kills your stamina, but it's effective. Get in, bash, attack, get out, and let them swing and miss, then hit them up again.
Fireballs do wonders against them. Sometimes I'll have my warrior only have that spell, just for wraiths and frost trolls.Probably best to be careful in the north east corner of the map because of all the bears, snow trolls, snowy sabre cats and even ice wolves.
Am I the only person who finds Ice Wraiths particularly difficult? Obviously as a Nord you have a big advantage, but I find other races get killed by a group of 2 or 3 quite quickly. They are hard to hit - near impossible with bows, and unless you dabble in fire/lightning destruction magic, they can be really difficult imo...
Hey guys.
So I recently started a new character, which is intended to be a warrior build. I'm at around level 13 and I am still getting completely destroyed by everything. Bandits and wolves are simple enough to kill, but sabre cats mow me down easily, as do bandit chiefs, forsworn foragers, and falmer gloomlurkers. In fact, I can't even take on 3 Falmer at a time when by myself.
I've got perks in heavy armour, one handed, smithing, alchemy, sneak, and archery. Sneak and archery are only in there because I was getting destroyed early on.
But still, even with what seems like the right perks, I can't guarantee a safe foot travel from Whiterun to dawnstar.
What am I doing wrong?

Get to the next level and do the Sanguine Rose quest. That way you will get an ally to help with the really tough fights.
I bash far more than I block though. It's like having Fus as many times as your stamina will allow. Just tap both buttons at once, while pointed at them, and be prepared to swing.
