Trouble with the logs

okay so I cut 10 logs i counted my self and went back to work on the home when it went to build something else and it says no logs so i go back and cut 10 more and same thing again. Am I missing something because it says buy logs but there's no one there. The people are dead inside the house.

You can cut logs all day long, but they belong to the mill. You have to pay for logs from a mill with residents that are not deceased. When you find a mill with living owners there will be a speech option to "buy lumber" ... the owner will enquire as to how much, you pay they deliver them to your house.

Also if you get a steward you can simply give them the money they will get more logs for you.
