PS3 Treasure map 1

Hi guys. Started skyrim at the weekend. Bit of info incase it helps.

Came out of helgen, went opposite way from riverside and found peaks tower and the like. Killed some bandits and got some treasure map. Found the location across from riverside in the tree trunk - no treasure.

Checked online and I have correction location, just nothing there.

Any ideas? I've tried it before and after the golden claw side quest.

i found treasure map 3 and 4, but even though theres a picture of a windmill and an "x" on the top of mountain slope i can't seem to find it (4). 3 is just too hard.

Is this the location that you went to? To bad the video will not show you what's in the chest.

Yeah thats the correct location - there is just no chest there!!! Dammit!!!

Anyone know if this affects any completion/trophies etc?
