I have tested Silver weapons by killing non-spawning named NPC(inconsequential ones) and without fail their corpses have vanished along with those weapons. To be an anchor , the object in question must be both persistent AND permanent. Most persistent objects do turn out to be permanent but silver swords and the gaulder amulet are not.I'm getting that "Persistent" means that they remain in a vendor's inventory in to perpetuity, but, if placed in a re-spawning container, they will eventually dissappear, while a "Permanent" item never does, even if placed in a re-spawning container. Am I right Adam? What do you mean by PERSISTENT? They'll disappear from containers (non-vendors) after some time? The items from the Fishing Job radiant quest disappear once I forcibly reset their containers. There are items that don't disappear when I do this such as Bounty letters and Treasure Maps I-X but the fished stolen items DO disappear making me think they're persistent.
For those looking for a definitive list of ALL permanent objects , I don`t think that`s going to happen. Sometimes objects obtain the trait by undetermined circumstance.
The ten Treasure Maps and the Fort Neugrad Treasure map have been solid anchors for me in all cases .
A lot of Journals and notes also work but must be handled carefully.
As for testing items ,Check for PERSISTENCE 1st and if that works , use as an anchor on an appropriate NPC you can afford to lose.(perhaps a respawning container will suffice idk) If it anchors them , remove and store it for future use on a "keeper"
