I like most everything about the game.
One thing I don't like that much is all the armor perks that require matching armor. Mixing and matching in a game like this can be kind of fun. And I don't like a lot of the helmets, it kind of makes customizing your character's face/head more or less useless since you need to the wear a helmet to benefit from a lot of the armor specific perks. This makes characters pretty much look identical, especially in most heavy armor sets when you can't see their face at all because of the helmet.
It's a pretty small nitpick, but when you have multiple characters it's nice to have different looks for each one. Not just "heavy armor guy" and "light armor guy." It'd be nice to at least show what race you are under all that armor. If you don't have a tail, you're out of luck.

The RPG/open world aspect of Skyrim combined with the combat/hit detection system from Dark Souls would make an epic game.

I thoroughly enjoy Skyrim. The scenery, the sound. Just being able to stop in the forests or mountains and look around and marvel is very enjoyable to me.

However, there are a few things which irk me to no end.

1) As mentioned previously, the sorting system. I will no doubt be correcting this with a UI mod at some point.

2) The inability to block without a shield. I understand realism comes in to play as was mentioned a page or so ago, but instinctively, I think a human would raise his sword/mace in order to block or parry an incoming blow.

3) My most massive issue: The Economic Depression. In Oblivion, I had a great system going on with some of the merchants where I got two-thirds or more of the value on almost all my goods. In this game, noone has the coin to buy things from me. Heck yes I'd love to become a blacksmith and rove around selling blades and armor to merchants, but frankly anything I craft or usually find in the wild is worth way more what can be paid anywhere in the region. Perhaps DLC will fix this, but it's a bit of a game breaker for me. Yes I understand the times in Skyrim and the whole issue behind that, but at least give me an elfish collector or someone who has some coinage. Like a mudcrab...

the list of likes is too long so i will focus on the dislikes, which are far fewer.

1) lack of companions. i want a team not just one follower, it annoys the hell out of me in all these types of games when you get limited to 1 companion. i mean i dont want a literal army (well i do but...) but having 4 or 5 followers so you can build a nice well rounded band of ass kicking would be cool in this game but would cause even more irritation with my second complaint...

2) followers dumb as hell movement. let us run through our follower(s) yeah i know not realistic and all that jazz but if i get trapped in a room one more time being unable to get them to move out of the doorway i'll plops a brick.

3) could use more population. not just humans in the city but regular traffic between holds, more bandits, more wild animals roaming around, more everything everywhere. at the moment you can sometimes encounter awsome scenes as dragons fighting giants who are trying to fight off bandits trying to kill their mammouths but its not as common as id like.

4) gear. there really isnt that much gear in this game. sure theres tons of plops, iron weapons with 2 fire damage or equally useless stuff but at the better end of the scale theres not a whole lot of choice. heavy armour, you craft and upgrade and embue daedric and your set, which is completely achievable pretty damn early if you really go to town on crafting. you may occasionally see something interesting but iv never even been tempted to take the daedric off which is worrying as iv still got 40 odd levels to go with this character. upgrading them to epic and flawless would be a start at least. same with weapons, sure theres some named items with some ok effects but most of them appear weaksauce compared to again the easily obtainable crafted stuff. i dont know maybe iv been too spoiled by everquest etc but just feel an rpg should be a never ending cycle of replace and upgrade.

also, and this is minor but still bothered me.

i killed the orc cheif....but am not now the chief.....yet i can become the arch mage having never so much as pulled a rabit out of a hat all my characters life. /grumble grumble.

still for all that, i do love this game.

Try SkyUI. It has a search filter as well as a better sorting system and is generally much better than the default UI (which sucks IMO).
3) My most massive issue: The Economic Depression....
Spoiler: If you join the Thieves Guild and restore it to its full glory you will have several sources that will not only be able to buy any item you can craft but will buy just about any item of value that you possess.

I dislike:

-The bodyguards/followers the Jarl rewards you after being Thane are weak AF.
-The horses are really slow.
-The guards just watch when some assassin tries to kill me.
-Some dead bodies disappear, some stay on the same spot forever.

I think it does have quite a few bugs on quests, World of Warcraft seemed to have far fewer and was even bigger so I don't see that as any excuse.

Only other really big annoyance is that storage containers within your own home should be given menus like the General Store so I'm not scrolling through my magical chest of hundreds of items trying to find everything.

Container Categorization Mod fixes Bethesda's negligence.

2) followers dumb as hell movement. let us run through our follower(s) yeah i know not realistic and all that jazz but if i get trapped in a room one more time being unable to get them to move out of the doorway i'll pl*** a brick.

This bothered me and had me taking to the axe a few times, until i realized that if you just run against them and keep running in the same direction, basically pushing them, they will move out of your way in around 2-3 seconds. Well, Lydia does , anyway. Another trick is to sheath, then run past them, they often leave a gap as they move to sheath their weapon.

Everyone that I have taken with me will do that. Also, if you have the space, move further into the room and they'll come in and you can run past them.

Just found something to add: go to jail. Cool, there's an achievement to break out and I can get my stuff. Spawn and it shows the locked door's difficulty immediately, okay they're encouraging this let's do it.

Break out, everyone who wasn't in view knows. I hide and stay out of sight for a while but they find me, run away. Find chest with all of my stuff, master lock and they gave me one lock pick. Seriously bethesda? If this had happened at an earlier time I'd consider it a game-breaking flaw.

Love almost everything about this game. Oblivion was my all time favorite. Can't believe how much better this game is. HOWEVER, I can't believe nobody has mentioned the "preacher dude" in Whiterun... how annoying is that guy? Is he important to the game... cause i want to kill him badly.

Wait until 1 am or so. Sneak into his house and stab him with a dagger for 15x damage with the right sneak perks. He's dead and there aren't any witnesses.

I don't know if it kills him outright cause I already had him down to half health before I stabbed him...I'm going to preface this by saying I don't know if it's a glitch, if you get a bounty, I'm sorry: But I did a sneak archery attack in Whiterun when he was preaching and although I was hidden at the time, once the arrow hit everyone knew it was me. I sheathed my weapon and they basically let it slide - I didn't have to pay a bounty or anything. He was down to half health and I was let off with a warning basically. Then I waited til 1 am and snuck into his house and stabbed him with a dagger in sneak while he was sleeping to finish the job. No witnesses this time and still no bounty. And more importantly, no annoying preacher.

While the game looks amazing and most of the gameplay is great this game is way to easy even on expert mode. that fact that you can level you char up while learning how to creating items or pickpocketing your gold back from the smithing trainer is such a bad game design. oh and smithing is so easy to get to 100 that after 4 hours of game play i had full daedric armor and weapons and all the gold i could ever need. there are far too many glitches/cheats in the game like the never ending book glitch which sells for 30-40g and the oghma infinium book that gets u to level 81 and 100 all perks in 15 mins. so i give the game a 10/10 for looks but a 2/10 for overall design.

Also being able to stack potions and enchanting makes ur weapons and armour so over the top its not even funny. i stood in solitude after killing some one for 30 mins and took only about 20% damage.
And 1 shotting the dragon at the end was so week  truly dissapointed.

Don't mean to start an argument, but it is your choice to exploit the game. Would you have preferred not to have the option to cheat? It might have taken Bethesda (who I believe are just a handful of human beings that must have worked their asses off) another 6 months to go through the game and find all the possible ways the hardcore players could use to exploit the levelling system. If you choose to sit there crafting 100s of daggers or repeatedly selling books or whatever, instead of having fun with the quests, you have made the game boring for yourself.

If you play a little more casually and honestly, doing the things that are fun and enjoyable -instead of exploiting game quirks tp level up quikly so you can clean out, just because you can- then it is not easy at all.

Also being able to stack potions and enchanting makes ur weapons and armour so over the top its not even funny. i stood in solitude after killing some one for 30 mins and took only about 20% damage.

I didn't even know you can do that, and it will definitely be of help to those of us who do NOT find the game easy.

I think some of the hardcore RPG fans are complaining about how Skyrim is not just like Oblivion with better graphics and more of everything.

On a positive note, I love the quirky details of the AI in this game.

NPCs have their own stats and they use weapons, potions and food as required. If you give your companion potions, you can sometimes see them use them in battle. And of course you can equip them and recharge their weapons. I love that. When I lost Lydia once, she eventually came back to base, wearing her default gear, but she had everything in her inventory. When we exited DragonsReach, she re-equipped the set I had given her.

Once i was standing with the Arch Mage ( I think) of Winterhold, right after finishing the final fight of the first Winterhold quest , where you go with him as a companion. He was just standing there looking at me, and I couldn't resist whacking him once to see his reaction.
I guess my hit just drained a small amount of his health, he immediately produced some food and ate it right there in the dungeon. :D
