(IC) Jifluffel sat at the table in the Jarl's manor, reading the letter over and over again. Do I stay and abandon those that rely on me? Can I be so cruel as to leave them to the Thalmor? he thought. The Jarl said that we would be carrying out important missions, could I save more lives with him then here? The general of the small armies in Winterhold, Raddin, entered the room above the great hall.
"What should I do, Raddin?" the mage asked the larger Nord man as he took a seat next to him.
"What do you mean, friend?" Raddin asked him, ignorant of what the letter on the table in front of them contained.
"This letter. Stormcloak wants me to do these important things against the Thalmor with him, but I can't leave you here. The College, the town, it'll be destroyed, but then I think that the city is already lost anyways. What should I do?"
"Jif," He said, using the shortened version of his alias that his friends used, "The city is not lost. The city is as fortified as it can be, and it won't make much of a difference whether you were here or not. Ulfric would insist that you should stay and fight and die like an honorable nord, but I always thought that we Nords were fools whenever we said it is better to die honorably than to die a craven. This decision isn't craven, though. Go, help Ulfric. You'll do more good there than dead in the streets here anyway." The general offered.
"I would say that I'll see you in Sovngarde, but I wouldn't be headed there anyway even if I wasn't going to die in an assassination attempt since I'm no brave warrior. I probably would have fled when the battle turned sour besides."
"Jifluffel." the general said, looking at him with a serious face. "You're braver than any Nord that I've ever met. I'll see you in the thundering halls of Sovngarde. I'll tell Ysgramor to wait for you. After all, who was the only one to stay on the outside, building the palisade while the others fled from the golden shafts of the elves? Get out of here. I'll save you a spot at the feasting table."
The mage stood and thanked his friend before slapping him a hug and leaving the hall with tears in his eyes, heading up the hill to the College.
