If you're talking about the strongest type of character, then look no further than the Nightblade. Sneak + Illusion + Daggers is way overpowered IMO. Add something like Enchanting + Conjuration and you'll never have to do anything yourself ever.

Gotta agree with this. My strongest character is a modified/slightly tweaked version of the classic Nightblade build and dominates any quest/fight easily. Even at lower levels, I had a much easier time with this character than I did my warrior or Mage characters.
However, it also depends on the player. Any build can be amazingly overpowered if you sink enough time into it and learn its tactics/skills well enough. I've seen people tank through the game, easily dominating with pure destruction mage builds, and even wipe Alduin with pure pacifist builds. Once again, it kind of just depends on you and whatever build you play best/know best.

What do you all consider the best type of player? I know it varies but I also know some people can pull of a hybrid really well, I'd like to consider myself a hybrid, hmm, what type of player are you and what are you working to be?
I gotta say, the most powerful character I ever played was a dual wielding(mace/dagger), archery, and sneak type of character. Boosted by the crafting skills later, it is obscene how much damage you can get from a dagger+sneak+poison sneak attack, and if you're good, you can score them in the middle of combat. Most people will agree that sneak +bow/dagger is the most OP, but it's by no means the best character. "Best" is pretty subjective.
This is the best quote I have ever heard...The best techniques are the one's passed down to the survivors.
