I think they grow them in glass cases, so they "fit" into the shape of the case. They've been doing it for a number of years now.

He would serve in the Army for the duration of World War II until 1945 serving stateside as part of the Signal Corps where he would write manuals, training film scripts, and slogans for the Army’s World War II home front efforts. Occasionally he would also do cartooning while part of the Signal Corps.

-The word ‘sex’ was concealed in the illustrations of New X-Men issue 118 at least 18 times – one almost every page. It surreptitiously appears in hair strands, bottles of whisky, a hedge, a puddle, tree branches, protest signs and, thanks to some conveniently placed garden tools, a lawn. The book’s artist, Ethan Van Sciver, has said that he scattered the word throughout the book because Marvel was annoying him at the time and he thought it would be fun to inject a little mischief into his work. Weirdly, this was the sort of activity that the psychologist Fredric Wertham railed hysterically against in the Fifties. He thought that comics were corrupting America’s youth, with their overt and covert depictions of sex and drugs, and his book on the subject, Seduction of the Innocent, led to Senate hearings and a strict moral code being imposed on the comic industry.

Gallium is a metal that can melt in your hands (melting point just under 30 C).

Not sure about the toxicity of it, but it's relatively safe to handle in small doses. Safer than mercury, I believe, but it stains, so it's not as fun.

You can make troll spoons and keys with it though, among other things.

Female pigs have orgasms that can last up to 30 minutes (allegedly)

If you screamed for 8 years 7 months and 6 days you would have used enough energy to heat a cup of tea :-)

If you farted constantly for 6 years and 9 months you would produce enough gas to create the same energy as an a bomb :D

Banging your head against the wall uses 150 calories an hour

Cockroaches can live for 9 days without their heads before they starve to death

A flea can jump 350 times its body length, like a human jumping the length of a football (soccer) field

You can lead a cow upstairs but not down again.

Starfish have no brains

An ostrichs eye is bigger than its brain

And finally

Elephants are the only animals that cant jump :-)

Vikings used to give kittens to new brides as an essential part of a new household. Cats were considered appropriate because they were associated with Freyja, the Norse goddess of love (among other things...lol)

I'm putting these in quotes for easier separation.
In most cases, a mare is a female horse over the age of three, and a filly is a female horse age three and younger. However, in Thoroughbred horse racing, a mare is defined as a female horse more than four years old. The word can also be used for other female equine animals, particularly mules and zebras, though a female donkey is usually called a "jenny." A broodmare is a mare used for breeding. A horse's female parent is known as its dam.

An adult male horse is called a stallion, or, if castrated, a gelding. Occasionally the term "horse" is used in a restrictive sense to designate only a male horse.

The red wolf is a North American canid that once roamed throughout the Southeastern United States. Based on fossil and archaeological evidence, the original red wolf range extended throughout the southeast, from the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts, north to the Ohio River Valley and central Pennsylvania, and west to central Texas and southeastern Missouri. Historical habitats included forests, swamps, and coastal prairies, where it was an apex predator. The red wolf is morphologically midway between grey wolves and coyotes, and recent genetic research indicates it may actually be a hybrid species. The red wolf was thought to be extinct in the wild by 1980. 1987 saw a reintroduction in northeastern North Carolina through a captive breeding program and the animals are considered to be successfully breeding in the wild.

Slugs, like all other gastropods, undergo torsion (a 180° twisting of the internal organs) during development. Internally, slug anatomy clearly shows the effects of this rotation, but externally the bodies of land slugs appear to be more or less symmetrical, except for the positioning of the pneumostome, which is on one side of the animal, normally the right hand side. The soft, slimy bodies of slugs are prone to desiccation, so land-living slugs are confined to moist environments and must retreat to damp hiding places when the weather is dry.

Bullfrogs are voracious, opportunistic, ambush predators that prey on any small animal they can overpower and stuff down their throats. Bullfrog stomachs have been found to contain rodents, small turtles, snakes, crayfish, frogs (including bullfrogs), birds, and a bat, as well as the many invertebrates, such as insects or arachnids. These studies revealed the bullfrog's diet to be unique among North American ranids in the inclusion of a large percentage of aquatic animals, such as fish, tadpoles, ram's horn snails, and dytiscid beetles. The specialized ability of bullfrogs to capture submerged and large, strong prey comprises a pronounced biting motor pattern that follows up on the initial and typical ranid tongue strike. Adaptation to target image displacement due to light refraction at the water-air interface consists of the bullfrog's application of tongue surface comparatively posterior to the perceived location of the prey target.

To see a frog in your dream, represents a potential for change or the unexpected. The frog may be a prince in disguise and thus, signify transformation, renewal or rebirth.

The frog symbolizes uncleanness or fertility. To see frogs leaping in your dream, indicate your lack of commitment. You have a tendency to jump from one thing to another. It may also suggest that you are taking major steps toward some goal. It parallels your progress. To dream that you are catching a frog, signifies your carelessness concerning your health. To hear the sounds of a frog in your dream, indicates that you have not accomplished what you wanted.

To eat a frog in your dream, represents some unsavory or unpleasant task that you need to perform. If you swallow a whole frog in your dream, then there is something that you need to do or say, that is literally difficult to swallow. Consider the phrase "a frog in your throat" to suggest that you are unable to speak. You feel you have lost your voice.
Now some small tidbits:
A barnacle has the largest penis of any other animal in relation to its size.
Centipedes always have an uneven pairs of walking legs.
Earthworms have 5 hearts.
A baby octopus is about the size of a flea when it is born.
A catfish has about 100,000 taste buds.
A chameleon's tongue is as long as its body and head and can shoot out as fast as sixteen feet per second.
A crocodile can open and close its jaw but cannot move it side to side.
Some species of ants send their queen into neighboring nests, where she will bite the head off the resident queen and begin laying her own eggs to take over.
Woodpeckers slam their heads into wood at a rate of 20 pecks per second. What protects them from injury is a spongy area that sits behind their beaks and acts as a shock absorber.
Unlike most animals, the word for butterfly in European languages do not resemble each other. In German it is schmetterling, in French it is papillon, in Spanish it is mariposa, in Italian it is farfalla, in Dutch it is vlinder, and in Portuguese it is borboleta.
To vomit, some frogs spew out their entire stomach, rinse it off with their right hand, and then push it back in.
The hoatzin (pronounced watseen) bird is a vegetarian which, due to its strict vegetable diet, has stomachs similar to a cows to help it digest. The need for large amounts of food makes these birds very heavy, and consequently bad fliers.
Tappen is the name given to a plug made of leaves, resin and fat which bears prepare and insert into their rectum prior to their three months winter dormition. This is to stop insects from intruding and laying their eggs as well as making it difficult for the animal to defecate during hibernation, but are often passed with great pain in the spring time.
