Mods for a new character?

Hey all, been months since I've really played Skyrim, and now I'm starting a character and looking for mods that fit it.
The character is going to use "beast magic" somewhat, he will have a strong affinity with animals basically.
I want him to have pet wolves mostly. So I really need a mod that increases the pet limit, all of the mods I come across increase the follower limit instead. Is there one that increases the pet limit anyone could suggest? (I cannot use SKSE) Preferably no new animals. Also if anyone knew of any other mods that may fit this feel free to suggest them. Sadly Tame the Beasts of Skyrim is out due to my inability to use SKSE. Any help/suggestions appreciated.

Yeah I have that, but I don't think it does. No big deal though, building my rig soon so I'll have access to commands and SKSE mods. I'll just make this my first PC playthrough
