Is anybody else having issues downloading the new "downloadable content" for Skyrim that is mandatory in the xbox 360? About 2 weeks ago I put in the disk to play and it tells me that i have 25MB of "downloadable content" that I have do to download to my XBox 360 or I will be kicked off of XBox live before playing the game.

I figured it was just a new software patch (there have been several since i bought the game initially), so I tried to download it, but every time it gets to the 75% mark of download, my xbox spits out a "cannot download content, check your xbox live connection" error. I know its not a connection issue, because I play Halo 4 online multiplayer for hours and have no loading issues whatsoever. I also recently downloaded the ESPN3 app to my xbox with no issues, and that file is way bigger than 25MB.

Just in case I checked that to see if I had space in my hard drive, and it said that I had 10Gig available, so its not a space issue.

The worst problem that I have now is that it won't even let me play the game, even while offline (off of Xbox live). After I hit the initial "start" button to start, the game will show a "applying downloadable content" window while trying to load in the main menu and get stuck there. It is similar to the window that comes up if you have the dawnguard DLC and it says "applying add-ons" every time that you start.

So i think the game/360 thinks that it downloaded the code, but it may not have downloaded all of it??? It is really getting frustrating because I've tried to download the code several times, and am still getting the same exact results.

If you have had this issue, please help, don't want to go another two weeks without finishing up some of my quests!

Maybe try deleting the patch off your memory? Like if you go to, System Settings > Memory > Skyrim, it will have your saves but it might have the patches there too, or at least the latest one, the only I can think of would be to delete the patch and to try and re-download it. Best of luck.

You may need to clear your Cache if the above suggestion does not work. Go to Settings- select System settings, then select storage or memory. Select your storage device , click Y and choose Clear System Cache.

Good luck!!

Thank you all for your responses, I finally figured out what my issue was. My wireless interface for the 360, kept dropping the signal when it got to a certain high bandwidth of load. It was frustrating to troubleshoot because it worked fine during normal online play, but i guess all of the download bandwidth at one time was killing it. I used a regular ethernet cable to my modem, and it FINALLY downloaded smoothly.

Next thing i did was trade in the stupid wireless accessory for an even trade at Gamestop for the new Dragonborn DLC. I think it might be the easiest decision i've made all year!

About the wireless? My son (now in Okinawa until 2014) bought the 360 Black Box. I worked and was on the phone for over 20-hour's over 3-day's because the wireless hardware in it wouldn't function properly. I was also refused an RMA exchange (even tho' it was brand new). So, I remembered he had bought the antennae for his green and white 360, and it's USB. So, I plugged it into one of the port's and next thing I know, connection! And it's never faltered since.

I also bought (last year), a new Netgear Router that has the 2G and 5G in it. Put the 360's MAC ID in it, and no problems since then either.

Nice! Glad it worked. I just think my antennae was too old and my wireless router at home has a weak signal. The combination did not work well when downloading heavy content.
