I got the quest from some old guy wanting me to accompany him so i was ok whatever. when i first arrived at the dungeon i was like hmm pretty neat. then he started reading stone tabs telling me that i had to sacrifice something to proceed further into the dungeon.. so i dragged dead dragur in the middle and pulled the lever and they fell into the fire pit.. i thought that was pretty cool. i was half tempted to make Frea stand there tho but i love her too much to do that haha. then there are 3 word walls there for the Shout called Battle Fury (awesome shout). and the last thing i thought was pretty neat was the magical floors that showed up in midair that you had to walk over in order to get to the next hallway. and if you fell off of the floor then you had to fight a bunch of shadowy figures at the bottom (i forgot their names)

it may just be me but overall i thought this dungeon was awesome and different then the normal everyday ones we go through. what do you guys think?

I liked it too, the puzzles were refreshingly different. I was getting to the point where I felt that all the dungeons were the same...pull some chains, rotate some pillars, *yawn* this one gave it a different dimension. It took me a while to figure out the puzzles, but that was totally okay with me. :)

Ooo...so not reading this thread in detail. I talked to the researcher guy but haven't met him at the ruins yet. It's my next quest to do now that I finished the main quest, but I'm too tired tonight so it'll have to wait til morning.

I was just thinking the same thing, I have met that guy too but didn't have time to do the quest, but I'll get it next time.

I loved this quest too. It was refreshing and fun to have all these new puzzles that actually took some time to do. I love them. :) Really fun mission!

Just did the quest and I agree, after a couple 100 hours of dungeon crawling everything looks the same so this was a nice change.

I enjoyed it too. Only problem is that I was stuck in it forever because I couldn't find the claw pieces. Ned is like mad rich and decked in only the finest, so I barely loot anything, these days. It took me a really long time to think to go back and loot the deathlords for the pieces. I checked and rechecked every corner of every room and every chest for the stupid claw, lol.

I love to make gold lol. Even when I have over 1 million, I bet I'll still loot Draugr for the meager 5 gold they give me lol :D Right now I have been hovering between 30,000 and 40,000, hopefully I'll really get rich soon :D

I hoard gems, ingots and dragon bones/scales. I have hundreds of gems. I also have well over 100K gold. I just don't like cluttering my inventory with stuff Ill never equip and don't need to sell.

I suspect I will. There hasn't been a quest I didn't like so far. I was going to do it this morning but got distracted by rieklings, man-eating horkers and stalhrim hunting. :p Hopefully after work I can do it, if I'm not too worn out by my afternoon students

OK, finally did it and yes, it was a lot of fun. I thought I had lost Marcurio during the last stretch with the magical bridges, but I waited in the Hall of Stories for 1 hour and he was back.

I'm glad the puzzles weren't too difficult to figure out and I like they were something new. The whole thing was very well designed. And of course, I got to kill a dragon priest. That's always satisfying.

After I was done wit the quest, I jumped off the magical bridge and ran through the water, killing all the corrupted shades down there. :D

Those damnable dragon priests frustrated me so much when I was new to Skyrim (I recall a few times where I futilely chased the one on Shearpoint around and around in circles while chugging health potions) that now I just want to pound every one of them to dust. :D I usually go charging in as soon as I heard that dragon priest scream. This time was tricky because I didn't know how deep the water was and if you stayed on the landing part, you risked stepping on those bleeping fire traps.

The one thing that annoyed me was not knowing if Tharstan could die. So I was going out of my way to protect Tharstan only to find he's un-killable as he's essential to closing the quest.

If you have the Sneak perk called "Light Foot," you can just run on the pressure plates and not a single one will set off. Unfortunately, your follower will trigger them, so watch out :p

Yeah. My Bosmer actually is so good at Sneak he usually can step on those traps without setting them off and he hasn't gotten that perk. The first time he did that once he got to a certain Sneak level I thought it was a glitch, but apparently this can happen--it's just not guaranteed as with the Light Foot perk. But I've kind of messed up on the perks with my Dunmer--first I wanted to develop her Destruction magic so spent about 4 perks on that, but now on Solsthiem, she's more effective as a dual 1H specialist, so I've been spending perks on 1H, Alteration (for the flesh spells) Enchanting and Smithing. Sneak will have to wait with her.

At least with my Dunmer, she has that natural Dunmer resistance to fire, and Marcurio stayed in the corner and did range attacks. Tharstan was another story. Even though he's not killable (at least he's not prior to the end of this quest) he was in that near-death crawl afterwards from stepping on one too many fire trips and even though I casted Healing Hands on him, he stayed there. (I later saw him back at the Skaal village and he seemed to have fully recuperated).
