How do you add friends on this forum?

Okay this is probably a really stupid question but how do you add friends on this forum? Can you even add friends? Whenever I go to someone's profile I don't see an add friend button or anything anywhere.

Click on a users name. When the menu pops up, select 'Follow'. That is about as close as you get to adding friends.
