Hi guy,
I'm new to this forum,
I have been roaming Tamriel for more than ten years now, since early Morrowind.
These days in Skyrim I have the problem of being unable to get anybody to follow me because they tell me I already have a follower.
Unfortunately I don't know who my follower is or where he or she can be found.
Is there a way to find that unknown follower?

There's multiple ways you can go about this:

1: You could have told your follower to wait and have forgotten him/her.

2: If you have dawnguard, you cant let go of the vampire daughter (cant remember name) until you finish her current quest

3: There was some glitches where if you sit your follower down, then tell them to wait here, and they get tired and apparently walkes away..They still act as your follower

Hey there HunkyDork, and welcome to the Skyrim Forums. ^___^

As to your problem, there are some quests that force you to have a follower, so that could be the reason behind it. Have a look at what quests you have and see if they give you a follower. Apart from that, you can always look through the 'Skyrim Help' section and see if anyone else has had (and solved) this problem. :)

Thanks guys for suggestions.
What probably happened is that I told the follower to wait and then totally forgot about him or her.
I have gone back to about ten "possibles" so far but no luck yet.
Will keep trying.
