Game Breaking Bug?!

After approaching the giant soul gem in the soul cairn, the soul drain effect will NOT stop, not even when my character is back in Skyrim. The blue light and distorted screen are VERY annoying, and it may make this character unplayable, and possibly ruin the expansion pack. Is there a fix? Please help!

Go back to one of the large life draining jems let it suck a little without eating a soul husk or drining a sould husk potion and then just run away that should fix the glitch
