Maybe this is just me, but I play a mage character and it seems dragons aren't even an issue. If I see a dragon overhead I will just spam fireballs until it dies and dodge it's ice/fire/whatever breath. On the other side of the spectrum if I get too close to a bear I am royally screwed. Does this upset anyone else or am I just being petty?

They made dragons harder, as you level up, and make them trickier to fight.

Not really happening for me, all that happens is they do some more damage. Is it supposed to be this way or am I just that good?

I've battled and killed all 5 or 6 dragons i have faced and never really came close to dying. Dragons are so easy to kill right now (i'm level 20).

I really don't have a problem with dragons either. It's just how you fight them, you have to be smart and you'll be fine.

In my opinion..
Once you get to Elder and Ancient Dragons you will notice the change. Which is Lv35+ I believe.
